Experience:

• At least 6 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Diagnostic Centre

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry
• Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry
• Master of Science (MSc)

• Certification or training in Quality Control, Laboratory Safety, or Accreditation (ISO/NABL) will be an advantage.

• MPH will be an added advantage

• At least 6 years

• Age At least 35 years

1. Oversee the overall operation and management of the hospital laboratory, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

2. Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic test results in compliance with approved standards and protocols.

3. Supervise, guide, and evaluate laboratory technologists, technicians, and support staff.

4. Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety rules, infection control policies, and biohazard regulations.

5. Maintain and implement quality control and quality assurance programs for all laboratory tests.

6. Monitor proper sample collection, labeling, handling, storage, and disposal procedures.

7. Ensure optimal functioning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.

8. Coordinate with biomedical/engineering teams for equipment servicing and breakdown management.

9. Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, chemicals, kits, and consumables, and ensure timely procurement.

10. Prepare and maintain laboratory records, reports, registers, and documentation as per regulatory requirements.

11. Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and hospital management to support clinical decision-making.

12. Ensure compliance with government regulations, accreditation standards (ISO/NABL/BNMC where applicable), and hospital policies.

13. Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.

14. Handle patient or clinician queries related to laboratory services in a professional manner.

15. Train staff on new procedures, technologies, and safety practices.

16. Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing for uninterrupted laboratory services.

17. Report incidents, errors, or non-conformities and take corrective and preventive actions.

18. Perform any other duties assigned by hospital management related to laboratory operations.
