Education:
    • Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacy

  • MSC or BSC in Pharmacy or Biochemistry is preferred.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of laboratory experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/lead role.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and diagnostic processes.
  • Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS/LIS).
  • Understanding of quality control and accreditation standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Laboratory environment with direct exposure to biological samples and chemicals.

  • May involve shift work, weekends, and emergency call duties.


Responsibilities & Context:

The Lab In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the operations of Apon Diagnostic laboratory. This role ensures accurate and timely test results, compliance with quality and safety standards, proper maintenance of equipment, and effective management of lab personnel to support patient care and clinical services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily laboratory operations, including pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, hematology, and other diagnostic sections.
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery of laboratory test results.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards (NABL, ISO, or local healthcare regulations).
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Oversee procurement, storage, and use of laboratory reagents, consumables, and supplies.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all lab activities.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate lab technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff for diagnostic support.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure strict adherence to infection control and biosafety protocols.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to management.
  • Conduct internal quality control checks and participate in external quality assurance programs.
  • Support the hospital in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
