Responsibilities & Context:

Job Overview:

The Junior Officer – Production will be responsible for implementing seed production, contract farming, and research activities in the assigned region. The role involves close collaboration with farmers to ensure high-quality crop and seed production, data collection, and support for training and advisory programs under the guidance of the Training & Research Officer.

1. Seed Production

• Supervise and monitor seed production activities to ensure quality, purity, and yield standards.

• Support farmers with field-level guidance throughout the production cycle — from sowing to post-harvest seed processing.

2. Contract Farming (High-Value Crop Production)

• Coordinate and oversee high-value crop production under contract farming models for institutional and export purposes.

• Ensure production quality meets company and buyer requirements through regular field visits and monitoring.

3. Research & Development

• Assist in conducting field trials on crop varieties, technologies, and improved production practices.

• Collect and analyze field data to support ongoing research and project improvement.

4. Farmer Training & Advisory

• Conduct training and provide technical advisory services to contract farmers on good agricultural practices and pest management.

• Prepare and disseminate training materials in coordination with the Training & Research Officer.

5. Field Data Collection & Reporting

• Maintain accurate field records, data entries, and progress reports on production and research activities.

• Provide regular updates and reports to the Training & Research Officer.
