Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institute may also apply.

  • Candidates with strong practical industrial experience will receive preference.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, calibration, process control systems, and industrial automation.

  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of field instruments, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.

  • Hands-on experience with Basis Weight Control Systems and Calendar Roll instrumentation.

  • Experience with steam flow meters, gas flow meters, pressure, level, and temperature measurement systems.

  • Practical experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of screw compressors, air compressors, air dryers, and compressed air distribution systems.

  • Experience in hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, pneumatic actuators, and associated control systems.

  • Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, VFD, and industrial automation systems.

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance requirements.

  • Good communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities & Context:

Hakkani Pulp & Paper Mills PLC. is looking for a competent and experienced Instrument Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of industrial instrumentation and process control systems at our manufacturing facility. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and uninterrupted operation of plant instrumentation, automation systems, utilities, and process control equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate industrial instruments including level, pressure, flow, temperature, consistency, basis weight, and other measuring devices.

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Basis Weight Control Systems and associated instrumentation to ensure product quality, process stability, and production efficiency.

  • Ensure smooth operation of electronic instrumentation systems, process control systems, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation-related faults to minimize plant downtime and maximize plant reliability.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of field instruments, control valves, actuators, and process control systems.

  • Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate steam flow meters, gas flow meters, level transmitters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, and other process measurement devices.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot gas regulators, solenoid valves, pneumatic control valves, control loops, and associated instrumentation systems.

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pneumatic actuators, double-acting pneumatic actuators, pneumatic cylinders, and related automation equipment.

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic control systems, hydraulic power units, and associated equipment.

  • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate preventive maintenance activities for air compressor systems, including screw compressors, air dryers, air receivers, pneumatic pipelines, and compressed air distribution systems.

  • Ensure reliable operation of compressed air generation and distribution systems, air dryers, filters, and pneumatic control devices.

  • Identify and resolve compressor-related operational issues to minimize production downtime.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SCADA, VFD, and industrial automation systems to improve process performance and reliability.

  • Perform maintenance, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of Calendar Roll systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and instrumentation components to ensure optimum paper quality and smooth operation.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Calendar Roll pressure control systems, sensors, actuators, and associated automation equipment to achieve desired paper thickness, smoothness, and finishing quality.

  • Review, evaluate, and recommend specifications for new instrumentation, automation, utility, and process control equipment.

  • Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, spare parts inventory records, and technical documentation.

  • Analyze instrument spare parts consumption and maintenance costs; implement cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement programs to minimize instrumentation expenses without compromising reliability and safety.

  • Participate in plant shutdowns, commissioning activities, project implementation, equipment upgrades, and emergency maintenance situations.

  • Coordinate with production, utility, electrical, and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operation and maximum equipment availability.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, operational standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, energy efficiency, utility optimization, process reliability, and overall plant performance.
