Background
Special Olympics Bangladesh (SOBD) is a non-governmental voluntary organization, whose goal is to help bring all persons with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected and given the chance to become useful and productive citizens. SOBD was established on 29th July 1993. Special Olympics Bangladesh is an affiliate of Special Olympics International (SOI) and is also registered with the Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau.
SOBD invites applications for the vacant position titled- IT Officer for the Family Registration Grant Project-
Job Title: IT Officer
Reports to: National Director
With funding from SOI, SOBD is going to implement a project to create a strong database system and collect data of families of the athletes engaged with Special Olympics activities. His/her major responsibilities will include formation of strong database system for SOBD and others including network and desktop support with Anti-Virus measures, data communications, hardware support, IT inventory and license management, and replication of IT policies & procedures. The position will be based in SOBD Office, Dhaka, and frequent travel field according to need.
Project Duration : June 2024 to May 2025. (Extension depends on work performance and fund availability).
Job Responsibilities :
Manage the use, maintenance and technical support of databases of SOBD used in the operation including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verifications.·
Archive and backup database systems; ensure security of databases; perform database administrator functions.
Maintain communication between local coaches/ trainers, stakeholders, and partners to ensure project success·
Facilitate and /or undertake additional data collection activities including planning and coordinating data collection methodologies and analysis with the staff of other projects.
Responsible for ensuring data protection for all data of SOBD.
Analyze and respond to report requests from MEAL, partners and donors.
Provide training, as necessary, to other staff members in relevant aspects of data management.
Compile and collection of all family’s data for report writing.
Assist in entering data accurately and efficiently into the databases.
Perform data quality checks and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Ensure all postings meet project’s standards and guidelines.
Monitor and check data uploaded by the coaches/ YA trainers.
Data checking for validity from the data source and compile proper record sheet.
Ensure regular feedback session with community members at the field level.
Coordinate with SOBD Officials and National Director to ensure proper planning, budgeting of Special Olympics Bangladesh activities and project activities as per Instructions by the SOBD Board.
Reporting and Supervision
The IT Officer shall work under the supervision of National Director and report directly to him and, through him, to the SOBD Board
