Educational Requirements:
∎ A university degree in Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Geography, Development Studies, Urban Planning or any other subjects related to climate change and environmental issues.
Job Context:
∎ In this TC module, GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of "Intern" from candidates who are attending a course of further study of which the completion of an internship is an integral component or have graduated no more than six months before commencing the internship.
∎ Contract Duration: 6 months (maximum)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The position holder is responsible for:
∎ S/he will be assisting in the documentation of the different activities, events, meetings, workshops etc. under implementing the project
∎ S/he will be assisting in collecting relevant data/information on different activity areas from counterparts, ministries, division/departments, LGIs, development partners, NGOs, universities and other relevant civil society organizations
∎ S/he will be assisting in organizing capacity development initiatives particularly online training, international peer-to-peer exchange sessions, workshops of the project
∎ S/he will be assisting to conduct a stock-taking on NAP and NDC formulation and implementation related best practices from similar types of countries like Bangladesh based on the information available on the UNFCCC website.
∎ In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:
∎ Areas to learn and support:
∎ Support Area:
∎ Assisting in the communication with different stakeholders to assist in the international peer-to-peer exchange events on NAP, NDC, climate change adaptation in agriculture and other sectors, UNFCCC requirements and guideline and related research fields
∎ Assist to communicate with project team members and other stakeholders as required by the supervisor
∎ Assisting in organizing the meeting with partners and relevant stakeholders at the national and local levels.
∎ Assist with relevant data collection and analysis as and when required
∎ Provide support in conduction of any necessary qualitative research
∎ Assist in arranging meetings, workshops etc. and preparing meeting minutes
∎ Support for preparing the reports of the different project activities.
∎ Assist in translation of project-related documents from Bengali to English and Vise-versa
∎ Provide any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
∎ Learning Area:
∎ Brief learning about some technical issues such as climate change, national adaptation plan, nationally determined contributions and some project and event management related tasks with on the job experience in the following areas:
∎ Capacity development activities on climate change-related issues
∎ Online exchange sessions on some thematic issues
∎ Communications with different stakeholders
∎ Meeting preparations including note-taking and report writing

∎ Professional experience: N/A
∎ Other knowledge, additional competences:
∎ Being pro-active engaged and motivated to contribute and learn
∎ Good command of MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
∎ Good language skills in Bangla in oral and written form to express complex conditions.
∎ Good language skills in English in oral and written form.
∎ Working knowledge of internet-based desk research.
∎ Familiarity with thematic issues such as National Adaptation Plan (NAP), Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), Climate Change, BCCSAP, NAPA, Environment, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), 8FYP, Vulnerable Community and Gender Empowerment will be added advantage,
∎ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Independent, highly motivated team member who is willing to learn with and from different groups
∎ Willingness to participate in fieldwork.
