Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, with a focus on creating sustainable changes in terms of ensuring the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster situations throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, building capacities of local stakeholders, and reducing the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host population affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, and primary health care, protection, and MH/PSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, Sitakindu, and Cox`s Bazar districts through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Sitakundu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices( Dhaka and Cox Bazar).

∎ HI is currently looking for one (01) Inclusive Sports & Recreation Officer for its "Education Cannot Wait Multi-Year Resilience Programme (ECW MYRP)" project. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Inclusive Sports & Recreation Officer contributes to provide inclusive sports and other recreational activities to traditionally excluded children and adolescent girls with and without disabilities in the Rohingya and the host communities in Cox`s Bazar.

∎ Duration of the Contract: As early as possible to 28 February 2023
Job Responsibilities:
∎ For all duties, Inclusive Sports & Recreation Officer maintains strict compliance with safety, confidentiality, and do no harm principles.
∎ Objective 1: Identification of beneficiaries
∎ Identify new participants for inclusive sports and recreational activities, in particular children and adolescent girls with disabilities.
∎ Coordinate with HI Project Officer-Service Linkage to engage those identified in an initial screening as interested in sports and recreational activities.
∎ Links with HI rehabilitation and education team and consortium partner to ensure inclusion of all children and adolescents with disabilities.
∎ Refer participants to other HI services if necessary.
∎ Objective 2: Ensure proper planning and implementation of inclusive sports and recreation activities
∎ Prepare periodic (weekly and monthly) work plan of the activities.
∎ Use appropriate tools designed with the technical unit and MEAL team to monitor participation in and outcome of activities.
∎ Mobilize traditionally excluded persons and organize them to participate including addressing social and familial barriers to participation in inclusive sports and recreational activities.
∎ Design and supervises activities taking into account the location of the activity, and gender and age level of participants in coordination with the technical unit.
∎ Ensure activities are organized and taking place in a safe space and inclusive manner.
∎ Coordinate the activities with education, MHPSS, and consortium partners to ensure the collaborative support of participants, including finding suitable land or space for inclusive sports activities.
∎ Follow up of services with the participants, their caregivers, learning facilities, playgrounds, and other services accessed by regular and frequent support visits.
∎ Sensitize the local communities on the importance of recreational, sports & physical activities for all persons and support greater awareness and understanding through outreach activities.
∎ Work in close collaboration with the volunteer, ensuring the quality of service.
∎ Objective 3: Supervision and Training of the volunteers and centre facilitators of CBLF
∎ Provide training to volunteers and centre facilitators inclusive sports and recreational activities including the adjustment of activities and design and implementation.
∎ Provide technical supervision to activities volunteers, in coordination with the line manager and technical unit.
∎ Assist in the regular appraisal of the sports and recreational activities volunteers.
∎ Objective 4: Documentation and Reporting
∎ Ensure timely feedback to volunteers regarding strengths and areas for improvement including the proposal of future training.
∎ Write weekly reports reflecting program activities and ensure their timely submission.
∎ Ensure that records and reports of beneficiaries are disaggregated by age, gender, and disability (if any).
∎ Prepare summary reports reflecting inclusive sports and recreational activities.
∎ Support the timely and efficient implementation of the monthly action plan.
∎ Support to provide feedback on the implementation and ensure timely discussions on any challenges encountered while involving relevant persons/departments.
∎ Objective 5: Conduct
∎ Demonstrate care and respect for traditionally excluded persons.
∎ Demonstrate an ethical and professional practice of outreach, inclusion, and facilitation.
∎ Respect beneficiary confidentiality and privacy and ensure that volunteers maintain confidentiality and respect of all beneficiary's privacy.
∎ Respect and promote HI's Policies and report any violation of HI's policies amongst the teams or partners.
∎ Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.
∎ Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers.
∎ Always respect a refusal of treatment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ 2 years' relevant experience in any following field of inclusive sports/ indoor and outdoor recreational activities/ games/ inclusion/ women friendly-space.
∎ Experienced working with children and adolescent girls with and without disabilities will get priority.
∎ Knowledge of disability and development, and inclusion.
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla).
∎ Sensitized on issue related child protection, protection of gender-based violence etc.
∎ Experience working in multidisciplinary context.
∎ Knowledge of Chittagonian/ Rohingya language is a strong asset.
∎ Strong team works approach.
∎ Motivated to work in Rohingya camps and host communities in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.

∎ Salary will be determined based on experience, qualification and budget availability.
