∎ University Degree in Occupational Therapy , Physiotherapy, Human rights, sociology, disability studies, international development, humanitarian assistance or any other relevant area. Post-graduation is a plus.

Job Context:
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
∎ CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD`s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
∎ The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
∎ Since November 2017, CDD in partnership with CBM is implementing humanitarian response for the Rohingyas and Host Communities in Ukhia, Cox`s Bazar. As per operational strategy 2020-22, the current key activities of the response consist of (1) the provision of multidisciplinary rehabilitation services, (2) running of a Therapy Corner to provide rehabilitation and other related services for the Children with severe impairments, and (3) technical support to mainstream organizations, advocacy with sectors to include persons with disabilities in the humanitarian action

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Purpose of the Job:
∎ To provide technical support to mainstream humanitarian actors to improve inclusion of persons with disabilities in the humanitarian response.
∎ Main jobs/functions and key responsibilities:
∎ Capacity Building:
∎ Based on the Humanitarian Inclusion Standards for Older People and People with Disabilities and IASC guidelines on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action, work with mainstream organizations to incorporate disability inclusion into MEAL frameworks, training modules and develop implementation plan to meet indicators
∎ Design and support humanitarian partners in collecting disability disaggregated data using the Washington Group Short Set of Questions and conducting Capacity Gap Analysis, including focus group discussion inclusive of persons with disabilities
∎ In collaboration with CDD's Training Coordinator and CBM's Humanitarian Disability Inclusion Advisor/Disability Inclusion Coordinator develop training packages on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (ie. Collection of disability disaggregated data and use of the Washington Group of Questions, Inclusion of persons with disabilities in WASH, protection and other sectors, Use of disability inclusion standards, guidelines and tools, etc.) and organise, facilitate as agreed.
∎ Provide on-site technical support to humanitarian partners to improve inclusion of persons with disabilities in their WASH, protection or any other sectoral interventions.
∎ Form access audit team, orient them and take their help in conducting accessibility audits of camp/host infrastructure and develop recommendations to improve accessibility based on national and international building standards and universal design principles.
∎ In collaboration with CBM's Disability Inclusion Advisor/Coordinator, develop accessible WaSH designs, and oversee the process of construction and validation of accessible WaSH prototypes in the camp.
∎ Develop IEC material which can be used for advocacy and sensitization at cluster level, and provide technical guidance on disability inclusion.
∎ Identify appropriate persons with disabilities among Rohingya population to organise them in group (disability support group, SHGs) and improve their participation in ongoing assessment, studies and existing committees.
∎ Link with any national, regional or local initiatives to support DPO leaders, when possible, to provide trainings to mainstream humanitarian organisations to include disability in their response strategies.
∎ Orient when needed and maintain regular coordination with CDD teams to share information on challenges facing persons with disabilities to access services, develop joint solutions and share information on referrals
∎ Contribute in Project Management:
∎ Contribute to planning, implementation, and monitoring of project interventions in coordination with CBM and CDD teams.
∎ Support Inclusion Manager to develop a detailed action plan for implementation of project including advocacy/technical advisory strategy with mainstream actors.
∎ Support CDD's MEAL Coordinator to capture important learning milestones in the advocacy strategy and present the same to relevant mainstream stakeholders
∎ Develop case studies either show casing good practices of inclusion of persons with disabilities in various sectors or documenting various barriers or challenges for persons with disabilities to be included in humanitarian assistance
∎ External Representation and Advocacy:
∎ If delegated, participate in theAge and Disability Working Group (ADWG) meeting and tasks, other sector coordination meetings to provide technical input on disability inclusion.
∎ Promote the use of existing guidelines and tools related to age and/or disability inclusive humanitarian action at cluster level.
∎ Participate in other meetings as required.
∎ Professional Development
∎ Identify areas for professional development and share with Inclusion Manager to enable an action plan to improve professional skills.
∎ Engage in self directed learning to grow skills and competencies
∎ Seek feedback and support as necessary to improve skills and achieve objectives
∎ Any other task/s, as delegated by line manager.

∎ Excellent oral and written English and Bangla and capacity to product learning documents and products
∎ Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, internet package)
∎ Experience in inclusion of at-risk groups ideally in humanitarian context- persons with disabilities, women, children, and older people
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla (speaking and written)
∎ Desirable:
∎ Experience in capacity building and delivering trainings, preferably in the field of age and /or disability
∎ Experience in humanitarian context/Cox's Bazar context and preferably in an advocacy and/or technical support position
∎ Knowledge / understanding of humanitarian architecture, disability inclusion standards and guidelines and Universal Design principles
∎ Chittagongian speaker
∎ Physical Requirements:
∎ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
∎ Resonable accommodation will be ensured
∎ Periodic Field Visit in the Rohingya Camp and Host Community Project Locations.
∎ Need-based work during weekends, when essential.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 75000 - 80000 (Monthly)
∎ Prorata basis festival allowancesInsurance as per organizational agreed coverage
