Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, with a focus on creating sustainable changes in terms of ensuring the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, building capacities of local stakeholders, and reducing the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host population affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, primary health care, protection, and MH/PSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, Sitakindu, and Cox`s Bazar district through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Sitakundu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices( Dhaka and Cox Bazar).
∎ Operational Thematic: Livelihood, Health and Rehabilitation, Protection, Inclusion, Education and Atlas Logistic
∎ Number of staffs: Around 292 National staff and 08 international staff
∎ HI is currently looking for an Inclusion Officer for its "Inclusive Emergency Assistance to Crisis-affected Rohingya Populations in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh, Jan-Dec’2022" project funded by UNHCR. Inclusion Officer will Promote Inclusive Humanitarian Actions (IHA) in Rohingya response through capacity building and on-job coaching of Humanitarian Actors.

∎ Line Manager: Project Manager
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed-term
∎ Duration of the Contract: As early as possible to 31 December 2022 with the possibility of extension.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective-1:
∎ Support the Inclusion team in the organization of a Kick-off workshop to orientate them on global disability inclusion guidelines and understand their needs in terms of capacity building.
∎ Capacity building and on-job coaching for humanitarian actors and partner staff working on Rohingya responses to improve their knowledge and skills on the inclusion of people with disabilities coordination with Senior Technical Officer (IHA), ensure implementation of training to build a basic understanding of partner staff on disability-inclusive programming.Conduct participatory assessment with partners to identify tailored coaching and technical support required from HI
∎ Capacity building and on-job coaching for partner staff and community volunteers in terms of early identification of persons with disabilities and assist with information, referrals, and accompaniment to services.
∎ Provide on-site technical support to humanitarian partners to improve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their projects.
∎ Collect good practices of disability Inclusive Humanitarian Action and disseminate with all external stakeholders.
∎ Support program team in the development of IEC materials.
∎ Organize lessons learned workshop with selected stakeholders in consultation with project manager and Senior Technical Officer (IHA) and share experiences earned throughout the action.
∎ Prepare the relevant PSRs to organize training, workshop, and necessary materials.
∎ Liaise with other team members to conduct surveys, study, and improve the scope of inclusion in the internal program.
∎ Upon request of the Project Manager and Senior Technical Officer (IHA), participate in external meetings to provide technical input on disability inclusion.
∎ Teamwork and Management:
∎ Prepare work plan(s), feedbacks of meetings/ field visits, and periodic reports;
∎ Identify training needs and plan/conduct training to enhance the capacity of the beneficiaries;
∎ Ensure effective cooperation, coordination, and representation of the project with local stakeholders;
∎ Maintain monitoring and evaluation systems;
∎ Participate in the meetings assigned by the line manager;
∎ Regular update the field situation to line manager and follow his/her suggestions/ recommendations;
∎ Accountable for the image of the organization in Bangladesh and must promote its philosophy and approach;
∎ Has to respect an obligation of discretion on all confidential information about the organization;
∎ Has to respect the strict public distance of political and religious neutrality of the organization;
∎ Has to respect Donor/project communication, Data protection rule, and visibility guideline.
∎ Has to abide by the HI related different policies (like Child Protection Policy (CPP) and Protection of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (PSEA), Data Protection and Anti Bribery)
∎ Has to perform any other activities suggested by line manager for the improvement of project or organization.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Preferably 01 years of experience and comprehensive understanding of disability issues, awareness-raising, and training material development/training implementation
∎ Experience in local inclusive development/CBR/disability rights/support OPD is preferred
∎ Experience of working in a remote community setting is an advantage
∎ Proven analytical and planning skills
∎ Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh
∎ Have the capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients
∎ Experience in contributing to data collection and indicator tracking within development projects or programs
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla)
∎ Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla and English
∎ Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural team environment
∎ Availability to travel to remote areas and spend time at the field level
∎ Strong teamwork approach
