Experience Requirements:
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Engineering Department.
At least 3–5 years in a leadership role (In-charge / Senior Engineer).
Experience in manufacturing industries (Garments, Textile, FMCG, etc.) will be highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance systems.
Understanding of PLC, automation, and electrical systems (preferred).
Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is an advantage.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.

Job Context: A leading and reputed Garments / Textile / Accessories manufacturing group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-charge – Engineering Department to ensure smooth operation of factory machinery, utilities, and maintenance functions. The position is responsible for maintaining maximum machine efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting uninterrupted production in a compliance-driven factory environment.
The incumbent will lead the engineering team, implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and ensure proper functioning of all production machines including sewing, cutting, finishing, and utility systems such as generator, air compressor, boiler and others.
This role also requires ensuring compliance with fire, electrical, and buyer safety standards, while supporting factory expansion, machine installation, and continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM, Lean, and 5S.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Management Lead and manage the entire Engineering Department efficiently.
Develop departmental goals, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure smooth coordination between production, quality, and maintenance teams.
Allocate duties and supervise engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Plan, implement, and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Breakdown Maintenance schedules.
Ensure maximum uptime of all machinery, equipment, and utilities.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical/electrical faults effectively.
Maintain records of maintenance history and spare parts usage.
Oversee operation and maintenance of utilities such as: Generator, Boiler, Air Compressor, HVAC System, Electrical Substation & others,
Monitor energy consumption and take initiatives to reduce cost.
Supervise installation, commissioning, and relocation of machinery.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for engineering projects.
Ensure projects are completed within timeline and budget.
Ensure workplace safety and compliance with industrial regulations.
Implement fire safety systems and emergency response plans.
Conduct regular safety audits and training programs.
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical items.
Prepare budget for engineering department.
Control maintenance cost and reduces wastage.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly engineering reports.
Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
Report to higher management regarding department performance.
