Job Context:
∎ CWFD emerged from an emotional response to help women in need of reproductive health care counseling. The organization, originally named as "Concerned Women for Family Planning (CWFP), started its voluntary activities in 1974 to help the refuge coming to Dhaka city after the devastating famine of 1974. The organization was registered in 1975 with Directorate of Social welfare and formally launched its project activities in 1976 with only 5 female staff to cover an area of Dhaka city slum comprising around 50,000 people. ∎ Mission Statement: CWFD is a non-political, non-profit voluntary organization run by women of Bangladesh to support, promote and protect the interest of women in Bangladesh by providing community-based health care, empower community to exercise their rights to eliminate social injustice, creating economic opportunities, empower under privileged youth of urban and rural population and develop human resources for a positive social change.
∎ Expected Programme Output(s): Girls, at risk of adolescent pregnancy, child marriage, or who are married, benefit from improved economic and life skills education opportunities, are protected from violence and able to access protection interventions and services across the development-humanitarian-peace building continuum.
∎ Programme background: Concerned Women for Family Development will receive funds from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to implement Adolescents and Youth Programme.
∎ UNFPA has initiated to provide menstrual hygiene management supplies to adolescent girls in collaboration with the WFP. Under the BlockChain technology, UNFPA Bangladesh is participating in part of their existing urban slum project and trialing how the BlockChain technology can be applied by UNFPA in providing menstrual hygiene management supplies to adolescent girls and women.
∎ WFP provides IT technology support to UNFPA on BlockChain, while UNFPA will provide technical support and service provision on menstrual hygiene management to beneficiary adolescent girls of the WFP`s project.
∎ The pilot BlockChain technology for Menstrual Health (MH) support is implemented at Duaripara and Bhantek slums at Dhaka city.
∎ Most girls don`t know about menstruation before they experience it, given the taboos around menstruation. Meeting the overall menstrual health hygiene needs of adolescent girls and women, given the stigma, myths, and taboos associated with adolescent health issues, is a challenging issue in the context of Bangladesh.
∎ As a result, a need to collaboratively adopt a community mobilization and SBCC plan to ensure improved access and utilization of basic MHH information and supplies.
∎ This SBCC plan will be revisited periodically to review and assess its relevance in any changing context.
∎ Duty station: Dhaka.
∎ Job Duration: July, 2022 to 31 December, 2022
∎ Job Location: Duaripara and Bhashantek slums at Dhaka North City Corporation.

∎ Line of responsibility: The Helpdesk Officer is directly reportable to the Field Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Planning and implementation project activities in the assigned areas Liaison/coordination with all concern. Prepare monthly work plan of the assigned working areas based on quarterly plan.
∎ Provide support the Program Organizer to arrange different types of training, meeting, orientation
∎ Provide support the Program Organizer to Conduct the SBCC meeting with the women and girls, shopkeepers and their female staff regularly
∎ Organize film show/Audio-Visual content for the adolescent girls and women of reproductive age
∎ Organize audio-visual listening quiz and mobile text message-based quiz competitions among the women, girls and shopkeepers
∎ Mobilize the community leaders and other influential persons of the slum areas (Slum leaders, Ward commissioners, Female leaders, Imams) and form a steering/management committee
∎ Conduct orientation session with the community leaders and other influential persons on the project brief
∎ Forming different types of groups. Such as parents' group, adolescent girl's group, shopkeepers and their female support staff group
∎ Arrange campaign program and facilitate different type of sessions
∎ Invite and ensure participation of the listed target people.
∎ Establish and maintain liaison/coordination with the GO, NGO, Slum leaders, Community groups, Health service providers.
∎ Documentation and Preparation of different project reports.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 2 year experience; preferably in Menstrual Health Hygiene, Gender, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Project related experience in implementing the implementation of the project activities in the slum areas.
∎ Should have experience in community mobilization, communication, liaison and collaborating with the Health Service Providers of GOs and NGO,
∎ Skilled in report preparation at the different stage of the project
∎ Good communication skill in English and Bengali;
∎ Good knowledge on supervision, mentoring, coaching and development.
∎ Good skills in computer operation especially with MS Office, (MS-Word, Excel, Power point and spread, internet and email applications);
∎ Willing to work in pressure situation and interested to work in the slum area of Dhaka City

Salary:
∎ BDT 35,200/- per month (including all other benefits).
