Position Title: Factory QC Head – Food (In FMCG for Bakery (Biscuits, Chips etc.))
Location: [Tongi]
Department: Quality Assurance & Control
Reports to: Factory Management /Operations Director
Position Purpose
The Factory QC Head is responsible for leading and managing all quality control activities at the food manufacturing facility. The role ensures that raw materials, processes, and finished products consistently meet safety, regulatory, and company quality standards, while driving continuous improvement in line with FMCG best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance
· Develop, implement, and monitor quality control systems in line with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and relevant food safety regulations.
· Establish specifications and quality parameters for raw materials, packaging materials, in-process, and finished goods.
· Approve/reject incoming materials, in-process batches, and finished goods based on quality results.
· Conduct line audits and ensure adherence to Critical Control Points (CCPs).
· Laboratory & Testing Management
· Oversee chemical, microbiological, sensory, and physical testing of raw materials and finished goods.
· Ensure testing accuracy, documentation, and timely reporting.
· Maintain calibration and performance of lab equipment.
Regulatory Compliance
· Ensure compliance with local and international food safety laws, including BSTI, Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, and export requirements.
· Prepare and maintain records for regulatory, certification, and customer audits.
· Liaise with government and third-party certification bodies.
· People Management & Training
· Lead, supervise, and develop the factory QC team.
· Provide training to factory staff on hygiene, food safety, SOPs, and GMP.
· Build a strong quality culture across production teams.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
· Monitor and report on quality KPIs (rejections, complaints, non-conformances, audit findings, etc.).
· Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
· Initiate cost-saving and process improvement projects without compromising quality.
· Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· % of batches released on-time without quality issues.
· Reduction in consumer complaints and product rejections.
· Successful regulatory and certification audits.
· Compliance rate with GMP, HACCP, and ISO/FSSC standards.
· Training hours delivered and employee compliance levels.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
· 8–12 years’ relevant experience in the FMCG food industry, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Lean/Six Sigma.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
· Ability to handle audits, regulatory compliance, and crisis situations under pressure.
