Minimum MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Management, Economics or related discipline from a reputed university.

• Minimum 15 years of banking experience with extensive exposure in Islami Banking operations, business management and policy formulation.

• At least 10 years of experience in senior leadership position in Islami Banking Division/Islami Banking Window/Full-fledged Islami Banking Branch.

• Candidates having practical experience in implementation of regulatory compliance, Shariah governance and Islami Banking CBS will be preferred.

• Strong knowledge on Shariah-based banking operations, investment mechanisms and regulatory framework.

• Sound understanding of Bangladesh Bank guidelines, risk management, compliance and governance related to Islami Banking.

• Proven leadership capability with excellent business acumen and strategic decision-making ability.

• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

• High level of integrity, professional ethics and analytical capability.

Job Context

The Bank is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader with extensive expertise in Islami Banking operations and Shariah governance to lead and strengthen its Islami Banking operations. The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic direction, ensuring regulatory and Shariah compliance, accelerating sustainable business growth, strengthening governance framework and enhancing operational excellence of the Islami Banking Division in line with the guidelines of Bangladesh Bank and internationally accepted Islami Banking practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Islami Banking Operations of the Bank.

• Formulate and implement business strategies, annual business plans and growth initiatives for deposit mobilization, investment expansion and profitability enhancement.

• Ensure full compliance with Shariah principles, regulatory requirements, internal control policies and risk management framework.

• Maintain effective liaison and coordination with regulators, auditors and relevant stakeholders regarding Islami Banking matters.

• Lead product development initiatives and introduce innovative Islami Banking products and services in line with market demand and regulatory framework.

• Oversee operational efficiency, asset quality, recovery performance, profitability and sustainable growth of Islami Banking business.

• Supervise and monitor Branch/Window operations under Islami Banking and provide necessary strategic guidance for business expansion and service excellence.

• Develop competent human resources through leadership, mentoring, training and performance management initiatives.

• Prepare and present strategic reports, business performance reviews and policy recommendations to the Management and the Board of Directors as required.
