Do you have experience leading strategic Humanitarian Action and Disaster Resilience initiatives, including vision setting, partnership development, and cross-sector collaboration?

Do you have experience providing technical leadership in programme design, quality assurance, localisation, and cash-based humanitarian programming?

Do you have experience representing organisations in national and international humanitarian coordination platforms and driving policy advocacy at multiple levels?

The role:

  • Oxfam in Bangladesh is looking for a Head of Humanitarian Action and Disaster Resilience (HADR) who provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure that Oxfam in Bangladesh delivers high-quality, evidence-driven humanitarian and resilience programming aligned with the Oxfam Country Strategy, thematic priorities, and global commitments. The role oversees the full spectrum of HADR work across the country programme, including the Rohingya response and other national initiatives focused on underprivileged and underrepresented communities.

  • This position leads the design, implementation, and quality assurance of humanitarian and resilience interventions; drives research, innovation, and knowledge generation; and strengthens partnerships, alliances, and localisation efforts. The role also plays a central part in business development, policy engagement, and representation in national and international humanitarian coordination platforms.

  • This role aims is to position Oxfam as a recognised thought leader in Humanitarian Action and Disaster Resilience—advancing sectoral discourse, shaping policy, and driving strategic influence through evidence, collaboration, and advocacy.

Job Other Benifits:
    • Salary & Benefits: as per Oxfam National C1 pay band, starting annual salary for this role is BDT 2,918,255.00 (13 months) with other benefits e.g., medical for self, spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave, life insurance, mobile allowance, and other admissible benefits as per the organizational policy. For highly competent & experienced candidates the salary can be negotiable.
