∎ Job Purpose:
∎ This is a tactically critical role at Mid / Senior Management level with broad scope and significant influence. The position will work to ensure that all relevant areas of credit risks are identified, measured and reported effectively and regularly and appropriate measures are taken to mitigate the credit risk. The position will make sure that all management structures, processes, and policies are in place to manage credit risk in terms of the Broad risk appetite, metrics and policy.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Leadership:
∎ Effectively lead, manage and develop the credit teams by:
∎ ensuring that staff are selected and trained to a competent level;
∎ Leading the development of lending staff, guiding team with the interpretation and implementation of lending, compliance and containment of risk policies and procedures.
∎ Ensuring direct reports provide their subordinate staff with the required level of leadership and coaching.
∎ Coaching and developing Credit Risk and Lending Specialists to demonstrate a commitment to high performance, personal accountability, and collaborative relationships
∎ Strategy:
∎ Develop and successfully implement CVCFL's credit risk management strategy for approval by the Board of Directors within the credit risk appetite set by the Board.
∎ Lending Policy and other documentation:
∎ Develop, maintain and implement CVCFL's Lending Policy and credit documentation (e.g. loan agreements etc.)
∎ (Includes determination, monitoring and, where appropriate, recommending changes to CVCFL's credit risk appetite for approval by the Board of Directors).
∎ Credit Control:
∎ Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of CVCFL's Credit Control policies, procedures, reporting and systems (including compliance monitoring).
∎ Credit Decisions and Support:
∎ To lead the lending referral process within Credit Risk.
∎ Approves lending within Credit policies to ensure compliance, quality and containment of risk.
∎ Present the presentation of lending applications that require approval under a MD, CFO, CEO or Board of CVCFL.
∎ Manages all staff related lending applications for Senior Management and monitors all other staff lending.
∎ Complex Lending:
∎ Provides strategic leadership in Complex, non-natural person, and staff lending portfolios.
∎ Risk Asset Reviews:
∎ Ensure the Risk Asset Review process is optimal.
∎ (Includes timely and appropriate reporting to management, identification of training needs and the provision of coaching accordingly, determination of ratings, and determination of review frequency).
∎ Analysis and reporting:
∎ Lead the identification, analysis and monitoring of the key drivers of Credit Risk (including external benchmarking and stress testing).
∎ Provide monthly reporting and commentary to Management and the Board of Directors reporting on portfolio performance and key trends.
∎ Communication:
∎ Actively engage with the Network by:
∎ providing effective, timely lending decisions on high value, complex and/or out of standard lending policy applications (which are outside the authority levels of the Branch and Business Partnerships staff) in line with CVCFL's Credit Risk appetite.
∎ providing a 'subject matter expert' advisory and problem resolution service for Branch, Business Partnerships staff on lending and credit control related issues.
∎ Credit Training and Capability Assessment:
∎ Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of Credit Risk training and assessments for all lenders throughout the FI.
∎ Presentation of Credit Risk courses from time to time.

∎ At least 3 years' experience in a credit risk management role in a supervisory capacity.
∎ Legal, finance or accounting background and experience would be an advantage.
