  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or related discipline.

  • 10–15+ years of experience in garment manufacturing, with significant experience in production planning for woven garments.

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role within production planning.

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning capability.

  • In-depth knowledge of woven garment manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent understanding of capacity planning, line loading, and shipment management.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary

The Group Head – Production Planning is responsible for leading and managing the overall production planning function for the woven garments division. The role ensures effective capacity planning, line loading, resource utilization, production coordination, and on-time shipment execution across multiple factories/units. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning capability, and close coordination with merchandising, sourcing, IE, QA, commercial, and production teams to achieve operational and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Production Planning

·       Develop and implement overall production planning strategies aligned with shipment commitments and business objectives.

·       Lead monthly, weekly, and daily production planning activities for woven garment operations.

·       Ensure optimum line loading and capacity utilization based on order volume, SMV, manpower, and machine availability.

·       Forecast production capacity and identify constraints to support order booking decisions.

Production Coordination & Execution

·       Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, commercial, and warehouse teams to ensure raw material readiness.

·       Monitor production flow from cutting to finishing and shipment to ensure on-time delivery.

·       Ensure smooth coordination between factories, washing units, finishing, and subcontract units where applicable.

·       Resolve production bottlenecks and operational challenges proactively.

Shipment & Delivery Management

·       Ensure all production plans are aligned with buyer shipment schedules and priorities.

·       Monitor critical path timelines and take corrective actions to minimize delays.

·       Maintain strong control over WIP (Work in Progress) and shipment status.

Team Leadership & Management

·       Lead, mentor, and develop the production planning team.

·       Set departmental KPIs and monitor team performance regularly.

·       Conduct planning meetings and communicate production priorities across departments.

·       Build a high-performance planning culture focused on accountability and efficiency.

Capacity & Efficiency Management

·       Analyze production efficiency, line performance, and factory capacity utilization.

·       Work closely with IE and production teams to improve productivity and reduce idle time.

·       Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting & Data Analysis

·       Prepare and present production planning reports, shipment forecasts, capacity reports, and management summaries.

·       Analyze planning data to support strategic decision-making.

·       Provide regular updates to top management regarding production risks, delivery status, and factory performance.

Compliance & Process Improvement

·       Ensure planning operations comply with buyer requirements, company policies, and compliance standards.

·       Develop and improve SOPs related to production planning and execution.

·       Drive digitalization and ERP-based planning improvements where applicable.
