Job Context:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international, non-profit, non-governmental organization with Headquarters in Denmark, providing relief, protection and resettlement services to refugees and displaced persons worldwide. DRC is one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, has been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. DRC in Bangladesh has been actively implementing in response to the forced displacement of Rohingya since August 2017 when the influx occurred. Given that the context is now post emergency, it remains complex and fragile and DRC is working towards providing an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2020 there will be additional focus on local partnerships and increasing support in the host communities most affected by the influx. The country office will be actively seeking to diversify funding and the area of impact, seeking opportunities outside of Cox’s Bazar and considering additional sectors eg livelihoods, solid waste management and climate change DRR. Therefore, DRC is currently looking for a Grants Management Coordinator to work at its office in Cox’s Bazar.

∎ Contract Length: Initially one-year contract with possibility of extension based on funding.
∎ Duty station: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Grant Management
∎ Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines and support implementing teams to ensure full compliance in coordination with the Risk and Compliance Coordinator
∎ Oversee and refine grants and contract management systems and processes
∎ Update, streamline, and disseminate grants management tools and resources
∎ Conduct regular donor mapping exercises and support the Head of Programmes (HOP) in identifying new funding opportunities in line with the country programme’s strategy
∎ Draft, review and provide support in the negotiation of project agreements, including sub-agreements, teaming agreements and memoranda of understanding
∎ Organize and facilitate grant opening, review, and closing meetings
∎ As and when required, act as the focal point to donor queries (as delegated by HOP)
∎ As and when requested, support external donor audits and donor monitoring visits
∎ Responsible for day to day supervision of the national Grants Specialist.
∎ Proposal & Reporting
∎ Support the HOP to plan and coordinate the development of high-quality project proposals, including narratives, budgets, budget narratives, work plans, staffing lists, and other required annexes. Timely compilation and review of all documents before sending to HOP for sign off
∎ Lead donor reporting processes by coordinating, compiling, editing and providing feedback to ensure the development of high-quality narratives and timely submissions
∎ As and when requested, attend donor meetings, upon request of the Head of Programmes
∎ Programme learning, knowledge management and strategy
∎ Document, analyse, and share learning from proposal and reporting processes, and compliance with donor rules and regulations.
∎ Support induction processes to new staff and provide regular refresher trainings and updates on donor rules and regulations
∎ Responsible for maintaining and updating DRC’s online Grants Management System (GMS) platforms
∎ Ensure learning from donor grants are captured, consolidated and disseminated, contributing to knowledge building and sharing and globally to influence policies and programme planning. This includes ensuring that regular grants closure meetings are taking place
∎ Responsible for drafting donor strategy in conjunction with Technical Advisors and HoP
∎ Prepare and update necessary documentation, such as reports, presentations and organizational documentation, to share with DRC stakeholders, including briefings for DRC staff and external entities requesting information on DRC’s programme.

Additional Requirements:
∎ To be successful in this role you must have the following;
∎ Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in grant management/ coordination, programme development, fundraising in humanitarian settings with INGOs
∎ Solid experience in the compilation of donor proposals, modification requests and reports; with practical experience in working with UNHCR, IOM, SIDA, ECHO, GAC, etc
∎ Knowledge of donor rules and regulations
∎ Proven experience in working with partners, local and in consortia
∎ Demonstrated ability to prioritize demanding workloads, to consistently meet deadlines and adapt in a complex and challenging work environment
∎ Excellent communication, coordination, influencing and interpersonal skills
∎ Demonstrate ability in thinking creatively and practically to improve the quality of projects
∎ Demonstrate ability in analytical and critical thinking with the ability to work operationally without losing sight of the strategic goal
∎ Strong project management and planning skills: with good skills in managing and applying related data analysis
∎ Conversant in proposal writing with effective communication skills including fluency (speaking and writing) in English and in excel
∎ Ability to lead and work within a multi-cultural/diverse team;
∎ Commitment to Humanitarian principles and DRC values.
∎ Languages: (indicate fluency level)
∎ Fluency in written and spoken English.
∎ Bengali language skills desirable
