Responsibilities & Context:
The General Sales Manager must lead the process of implementing our resources and build a culture based on new business development
Upon demonstrating an understanding of the media sales business the General Sales Manager will be encouraged to identify high-performance sales talent and build his/her team to ensure continued growth

Works with key advertisers, including a base of local and locally controlled small businesses, to develop successful relationships
Work closely with market leadership to create unique cross-platform programs
Employs public-relations techniques to ensure that the employees and the public have a good understanding of The Leaf-Chronicle and TN Media capabilities to connect and help local people and impact growth for local businesses
Prospecting new business and potential partners
Developing and pitching sponsorship packages designed to meet clients’ needs
Fulfilling advertising/sponsorship packages
