Experience:

• 5 to 8 years

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CMA, CPA) is often highly preferred or required.

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cost accounting.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company policies.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement).
• Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insightful reports to management.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process with external auditors. * Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide explanations for significant variances.
• Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Conduct financial feasibility studies for new projects or business ventures.
• Assist in developing financial strategies to optimize profitability and efficiency.

3. Cash Flow Management:

• Manage daily cash operations, including monitoring bank balances and optimizing liquidity.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital effectively.
• Ensure timely collection of receivables and efficient management of payables.
• Liaise with banks for various financial services and facilities.

4. VAT & Taxation:

• Ensure full compliance with all local VAT laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and manage any discrepancies.
• Keep abreast of changes in VAT legislation and advise management on potential impacts.
• Liaise with tax authorities for audits, assessments, and clarification on tax matters. * Oversee other tax compliance requirements (e.g., income tax, withholding tax) as applicable.

5. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.
• Allocate tasks, set performance objectives, and conduct performance appraisals.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

6. System & Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in the selection, implementation, and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems.
• Develop and update financial policies and procedures.
