Job Context:
∎ Shams Group of Companies, one of the leading Logistics business Group consisting of 5 different companies, is currently looking for a well experienced individual for the position of General Manager - Accounts and Finance, to be based at their Head Office in Dhaka.
∎ This is a senior management role where the candidate would need to lead the entire department, and as such, the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate his/her superior management skills and accounting expertise in a variety of personal and corporate accounting and financial practices, including overseeing the tax related issues. The candidate must be highly accurate and efficient, utilizing his vast knowledge of the current tax code, upholding the company standard and policies; plans, directs, and conducts accounting activities within the Group in line with the industry practice and policies.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Be in charge of all day-to-day operation and management of all accounts and finance related activities of the Group.
∎ Preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements, annual budget.
∎ Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce all relevant financial reports and/or statements to the management.
∎ Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate local and global accounting and regulatory practices and requirements. Provide assurance that financial reporting is accurate and error free.
∎ Establishing and maintaining appropriate internal control and ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of related processes and policies. Supervise the internal audit and coordinate all external audit activities.
∎ Must have working experience and thorough knowledge about updated income and corporate tax policies and practices of Bangladesh. Manage and supervise the preparation and submission of tax files and all tax related issues of the Group.
∎ Manage and supervise the preparation and submission of VAT and all other Vat related policies and practices as per the NBR and Govt rule of Bangladesh.
∎ Devise and implement plans to mitigate the accounts and finance policy related risk for a smooth process. Monitor the Group's legislative developments, regulatory issues, develop and implement strategic changes to maintain compliance and maximize business performance.
∎ Mentor and develop the members of Accounts and Finance team using the experience and expertise through proper counselling, work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, motivation and building of effective team dynamics and creating thrust of achieving excellence.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 35 years

∎ Previous working experience in a similar role.
∎ Knowledge and experience in cost and management reporting.
∎ Experience of working in ERP environment.
∎ Advanced knowledge in international accounting and financial reporting standards.
∎ Good understanding of business operation and processes.
∎ Knowledge of current world financial and economic trends.
∎ High expertise on financial reporting
∎ Excellent negotiation skill, high intellectual capability, strategic, and tactical
∎ Must have strong leadership qualities to supervise, lead, guide the large professional Finance & Accounts Team.
