Job Context:
∎ REPORT TO : DEPUTY CHIEF OF PARTY
∎ The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist will work with all the teams including the technical team, the Communications Team, the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team, the Chief of Party (COP), and the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to ensure that the Activity identifies opportunities with the private sector in the lead to successfully and sustainably integrate gender equality, youth empowerment, and social inclusion priorities into interventions. The GESI Specialist will lead the coordination of crosscutting gender strategies by working closely with the technical team to identify opportunities for young women, disadvantaged populations, and youth to succeed and meet private sector workforce demand. The GESI Specialist will work with private sector market actors to ensure that activities are intentionally designed to support women and youth overcome barriers they face due to the combined effects of their age, gender, and residence. The GESI Specialist will also contribute meaningfully to the design of the Activity`s annual work plan, tracking and documenting progress and achievements on gender equality and social inclusion.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Investigate gender-specific barriers with respect to key challenges to the overall purpose of the Activity and adapt market-driven solutions that promote systemic changes in the market system.
∎ Identify opportunities to integrate gender and social inclusion into tools, strategies, and processes commonly used across the Activity including the private-sector-led interventions.
∎ Lead the design and co-creation of interventions with a built-in gender lens.
∎ Collaborate with the Communications Team to document progress, achievements, and case stories on gender equality and social inclusion.
∎ Collaborate with the MEL team to ensure that gender-sensitive indicators and milestones are accurately measured and incorporated into private sector partners' business flows.
∎ Lead and innovate approaches using the Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) framework to inform and improve the Activity and private sector interventions.
∎ Contribute to quarterly and annual progress reporting by providing information on the extent to gender gaps that were addressed and those that remain; what new opportunities for men and women were created.
∎ Build the capacity of the Activity staff and private sector partners how to collect and report on gender-sensitive data, and identify, test, and scale gender integration approaches throughout the Activity in collaboration with the private sector.
∎ Review and update the Gender Analysis Report on an annual basis.
∎ Design and facilitate training on gender mainstreaming and awareness from a market system perspective.
∎ Design campaigns with the Communications Team that exclusively focus on economically empowering women and youth.
∎ Perform any other tasks assigned by the COP or DCOP consistent with the overall nature of the Activity.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience in a gender role preferably with a focus on agriculture and private sector-led approach.
∎ Strong story-telling ability and writing skills to creatively communicate results in gender equality and social inclusion.
∎ Willingness to work in innovative and unconventional ways when necessary to achieve results.
∎ Excellent working capabilities with MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and data management software.
∎ Ability to establish and maintain effective, meaningful, and sustainable relationships with the Activity staff, USAID Mission personnel, and private sector partners.
∎ Experience with USAID and working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred
∎ Experience with a range of online content platforms, stories, and visuals.

∎ Negotiable based on experience, qualifications and salary history.
