∎ BACKGROUND: Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is a Non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making international organization. It works for people with disabilities, whatever the context, offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant. Since its creation, the organization has set up programs in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations.
∎ In Bangladesh; HI has been working since 1997 and currently implementing both development and humanitarian programing with main focus of people with disabilities. HI in Bangladesh is registered (registration number: 1575) as an INGO with NGO Affairs Bureau, office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Registration number: 1575 and valid till 2030.
∎ OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this consultancy/freelance work is to professionally assist to perform project related translations including technical documents related physical rehabilitation and inclusion, to obtain multifarious translations work relevant to NGO Affairs bureau`s papers on daily and urgent basis and other pertinent documents for HI.
∎ HI is looking for a Translator as freelancer to work with HI as part time (15 days per month) or as when required. The translator will be engaged officially with HI to work on the tasks of translation either as when required or 15 days in a month basis with a specific timeline to deliver the service. The translator will be liable to deliver the quality of deliverable.
∎ Employment Status: Part-time/Freelance/Contractual
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Translate document/ file English to Bangla and Bangla to English.
∎ HI is looking for a Translator as freelancer to work with HI as part time (15 days per month) or as when required. The translator will be engaged officially wit HI to work on the tasks of translation either as when required or 15 days in a month basis with a specific timeline to deliver the service. The translator will be liable to deliver the quality of deliverable.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Advance level of English and Bangla language.
∎ Experience in translating document/ file from/ to English from/ to Bengali.
∎ Experience and knowledge of paper work/translation work on the document for several Bangladesh Govt offices, like Foreign ministry, Home ministry, Immigration-passport office, SB office, RRRC office, NGO Affairs bureau will be added value.
∎ Adequate knowledge in documents related to physical rehabilitation and inclusion or other related topics
∎ Able to do quality work under pressure with meet the deadline.
∎ Similar experience with other NGO/INGOs
∎ Typing speed in computer for Bangla (bijoy) and English must be in advance level
∎ Quick adaptation and understanding level of content.
∎ Good Communication skill
Salary:
∎ Negotiable
∎ Salary/Remuneration: Negotiable or the Applicant/Translator can offer their rate on 15 days work in a monthly basis or daily basis. The payment will be considered including Vat and Tax as per Govt. rules.
