Educational Requirements:
∎ Completion of University degree (Bachelor's/ equivalent) in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or in another related field

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The incumbent will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of DRR Team, in coordination with the Energy and Environment Technical Working Group.
∎ Represent WFP in official and technical meetings and consultations with partners and engage in policy dialogue, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder coordination to achieve shared advocacy objectives.
∎ Participate in site selection and collect and analyze baseline environmental data that can inform site planning and development.
∎ Ensure timely and effective implementation of field assessment, site planning, and management of forestry/plantation works in the refugee camps;
∎ Provide technical and policy advice to WFP on activities related to forestry/environmental interventions at district and sub-district levels;
∎ Ensure coordination with the Bangladesh government, such as Forestry Department and partners, by holding regular meetings;
∎ Establish technical coordination with UN agencies such as FAO, IOM, UNHCR, and other reforestation projects on the ground;
∎ Preparing work plans, budgets, implementation guidelines of the respective programme activities related to forest, environment, climate change, and natural resource management;
∎ Monitor forestry/plantation works compliance to assure adherence to government regulations.
∎ Manage all day-to-day activities of the respective programmes;
∎ Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility
∎ Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government within the specific technical area.
∎ Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience where three years in forestry and climate change or similar field. In addition , a basic knowledge about Government of Bangladesh (GOB) policies on forest conservation, climate change and disaster risk management.
∎ Desired experience : Knowledge of government structures, policies, and regulations for Forestry, Environment .
∎ Understanding of UN structures and systems for coordination
∎ Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with Government, UN, academia and civil society
∎ Language: Fluency in English & Bengali (both oral and written) is required.
Salary: Tk. 114638 (Monthly)
