Job Context:
∎ Reporting Line: Technical Lead WASH
∎ 6 months duration
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Function as Field Team Leader for all project activities within the project's six working upazilas in Cox' Bazar, under supervision of the Technical Lead
∎ Function as the supervisor for iDE field staff (4 Market Development Officers), 1 Admin & Finance Officer, 1 driver, 1 support staff)
∎ Operate as a regional iDE contact person for institutional iDE requirements, roll-outs, security and coordination
∎ Ensure high quality technical support to the field team following organizational and market development principals
∎ Facilitate project phase out planning
∎ Ensure delivery of iDE's program of field activities in BNA at a high quality, in line with budget, and in accordance with institutional priorities
∎ Ensure professional facilitation of donor visits to project field sites in Cox' Bazar
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of experience working on market system development, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial position and in leading project implementation
∎ Familiarity and experience with project management concepts such as Logical Frameworks, Impact Logic or Results Chains
∎ Considerable experience and knowledge of rural markets, trading relationships and rural service provision
∎ Familiarity with the WASH sector preferred
∎ Ability to responsibly manage district level funds, monitoring and team progress
∎ Ability to plan and implement iterative field level activities for market systems change (looking beyond the DIP)
∎ Understanding of market systems development, value chain approaches, and deep dive research
∎ Energetic and focused approach to engaging with multiple stakeholders to promote market systems approach to WASH
∎ Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
∎ Ability to work with various national and international team members and flexibility to adapt to different work conditions
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural contexts
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences.
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and the internet
∎ Familiarity with internet based software systems such as Google Apps.
