Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox’s Bazar office is looking for suitable candidate for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
∎ The details of the position including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above positions are given below for your information:
∎ Job Nature: Temporary

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advising the WASH team in water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programming, in broad coordination with other sectors.
∎ To supervise rehabilitation of water points and ensure that other construction works are done as per need at identified water points.
∎ To supervise construction of household latrines in the camp.
∎ Plan and supervise implementation of hygiene promotion activities in the camp.
∎ Contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of project reports.
∎ Advising on mainstreaming gender, protection, and DRR in project and program activities.
∎ Assisting in the preparation of the WASH proposal.
∎ Ensure the development of accurate Bill of Quantities (BoQs) and detailed technical drawings for all the WASH interventions.
∎ Supervise and be responsible for all the technical aspect for project implementation, make sure that contractors complete project work in a timely, efficient and accurate manner with respect to standard engineering.
∎ Ensure community involvement at all phases of the project and the development of community ownership of the project.
∎ Guarantee the respect of construction standards as well as the security practices at the project site.
∎ Provide feedback to the monitoring and evaluation system in order to assess the effectiveness and the impact of the projects and propose recommendations for improvement.
∎ With the help of the Manager WASH develop and maintain weekly, monthly plans and written comprehensive records of engineering work undertaken in the project including site visits and reporting of work progress.
∎ Contributing to contingency planning for possible WASH emergency response if required.
∎ Contributing to the preparation of internal and external reports for the NGO and donors, including expenditure plans and situation reports.
∎ Maintain contact, liaison, network and coordination with the actors of the Public and Private sector for exchange ideas/ views, good practices and learnings.
∎ Represent Caritas Bangladesh in different Public and Private sector Forums/Clusters/Associations/ Campaigns, etc. as assigned by the Caritas Management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the similar job in any reputed organizations. Experience in working on WASH Program in emergency programs is strongly preferred.
∎ Knowledge on ICT particularly on MS Excel, MS Word (both Bangla & English), Power Point etc., is essential.
∎ Should be fluent in communication both in writing and speaking in English language.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, coordination and training/facilitation skills.
∎ Should have persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.
∎ Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team.
∎ Should have “can do’ attitude and able to handle multiple tasks managing priorities.
∎ Committed to work following organizational aims, values, principal and policies.

Salary:
∎ 60,000 BDT (Consolidated) per month.
