Job Context:
∎ Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children, youth and women, promoting climate justice. The organization is going to implement a research focused pilot project named `Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice with the support of `OXFAM in Bangladesh`.The relevant study and activities will be implemented in Dhaka, Satkhira , Khulna and Cox`s Bazar District. BTS is going to recruit the `Field Officers` for the mentioned project.

∎ Tenure of Services Contract:
∎ 3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project`s lifetime.

∎ Shatkhira Shyamnagar and Khulna Koyra Thana
∎ Cox`s Bazar Chakaria & Moheshkhali Thana
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist project officer and feminist climate justice officer in achieving projects objectives.
∎ Engage day to day field level project implementation activities.
∎ Engage in field level data collection on demand basis.
∎ Arrange and conduct community level training and workshop on feminist climate movement building and other relevant activities.
∎ Communicate to stakeholders at the local level from a justice and equity approach in conducting awareness-raising actions.
∎ Assist in developing and sustaining partnerships with different stakeholders including youth, activists, scientists, civil society organizations, business sectors and the government of Bangladesh, especially at the grassroots.
∎ Promoting women and youth leadership for climate justice and natural resource rights.
∎ Assisting in progress reporting for projects using information from various sources.
∎ Ensuring safe and inclusive project management.
∎ Assist in knowledge development on blue economy and inclusiveness development.
∎ Assist all the other project management activities as relevant.
∎ Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years relevant experience and training in ecosystem management, livelihood opportunities, survey, and analysis. Experience on community led gender just work will be an added advantage.
∎ Experience in field level implementation activities.
∎ Ability to work with different creed, culture, and ethnicity
∎ Knowledge of gender, Feminist principle, Ecosystem and the livelihoods approaches.
∎ Able to work under pressure and willing to frequent travel to Field area in the Project Area.
∎ Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, simulation, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.
∎ Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Salary:
∎ Gross: Taka 32,000- 36,000/=
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 2 days weekend
∎ Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per 'Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy' of Breaking the Silence and the facilities will be applicable also based on available resources in the project budget.
