KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of production processes (cutting, sewing, stitching, and finishing) with the ability to ensure quality control at all stages

  • Skills in production planning, monitoring, and timely delivery of outputs according to order requirements

  • Ability to manage sample development, obtain approvals, and ensure compliance with approved standards

  • Competence in workforce management, including supervising artisans, maintaining attendance, and preparing accurate wage-related documentation

  • Strong coordination, communication, and community mobilization skills to engage stakeholders and support artisan recruitment and training

COMPETENCIES:       

  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)

  • Ability to operate in across functions sections and work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of diverse teams

  • Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

To ensure efficient and timely production by maintaining quality standards, proper planning, and effective coordination across all stages of the production process. The role also aims to support workforce management, accurate wage documentation, and community engagement for sustainable artisan development.

  • Receive standard-quality raw materials as per the assigned order numbers

  • Implement production planning and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery

  • Oversee sample preparation and obtain necessary approvals from the relevant authority

  • Ensure product cutting is carried out by the Cutting Master in accordance with approved samples and targets

  • Monitor and ensure product quality throughout the tailoring process

  • Coordinate with the turpai section and verify product quality upon completion

  • Ensure daily transfer of finished goods to the finishing/tracing section in a timely manner

  • Monitor artisans’ attendance and take necessary measures to minimize absenteeism

  • Prepare and maintain wage-related documentation, including muster rolls, wage registers, and workers’ passbook entries

  • Mobilize artisans from the community through door-to-door outreach as per targets and facilitate their training

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
