Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh that partners with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realise potential.

As part of this mission, we are seeking a dynamic individual for an anticipated project to play the role of the Field Facilitator to implementation of Early Childhood Development (ECD) activities in the host community of a new project funded by the LEGO Foundation, activities have been initiated to promote the mental health and age-appropriate development of children aged 0 to 3 years among the local population of Cox's Bazar district and the displaced population from Myanmar.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify children aged 0-3 years through CHW surveys.

  • Supervise Community Health Worker (CHW) activities and provide guidance.

  • Monitor CHW sessions and offer constructive feedback.

  • Assist CHWs in selecting appropriate venues for sessions.

  • Counsel pregnant women via CHWs to ensure ANC and immunization uptake.

  • Conduct monthly refresher trainings for CHWs and Para Counsellors.

  • Support Para Counsellors in addressing mental health issues through regular visits.

  • Ensure availability and proper use of play materials, tools, and low/no-cost resources.

  • Track children’s attendance, engagement, and well-being daily.

  • Participate in training on early childhood development, psychosocial support, and play-based learning.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly programme reports to the supervisor.

  • Uphold child safeguarding and protection policies in all activities.

  • Identify at-risk children or protection cases and refer them to Para Counselling volunteers, Psychologists, or focal points.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
