Job Context:
∎ The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has initiated a project on Nutrition in Secondary Cities "Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE)" since August 2021. The project will be implemented by a Swiss Consortium comprising the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, ETH Zürich, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, Sight and Life Foundation. The goal of the NICE project is to improve the health and nutrition of city populations with a particular focus on women and youth. It will facilitate multisectoral action for nutrition, local public private partnership and introduce social business models to strengthen the demand and supply of local, nutritious, agroecological foods. The project will be implemented in the selected secondary cities of Bangladesh, Kenya and Rwanda.
∎ SFSA is the implementing agency of "Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE)" project in Bangladesh. The project will focus on 2 cities in Bangladesh and scale the learnings to a further 4 cities in the country over the first 4-year phase.

∎ Job Summary:
∎ Field coordinator(s) will be responsible for implementation management, monitoring and coordination of project intervention activities, maintain liaison with project partners and stakeholders under the guidance and coordination of the NICE Project Manager.
∎ Relationships: S/he will be reportable to the NICE Project Manager and work in close coordination with the project team and other agriservices projects of SFSA Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate, manage, support and monitor field team;
∎ Prepare field implementation plan, schedule, take actions for fields requirements;
∎ Assist for overall coordination, project management and technical issues;
∎ Facilitate and support the cities to set up /strengthen a multisectoral committee for nutrition that gives a platform to women and youth;
∎ Serve as liaison person to city corporations/municipalities, implementing partners and other development partners working in Nutrition at city levels (such as SUN, UNDP, WFP, FAO) e.g. to communicate and arrange steering committee meetings, with support as necessary;
∎ Assist in implementation of activities involving women and youth to improve the production and availability of diverse, local, nutritious, agroecological foods;
∎ Facilitate the implementation of activities to increase knowledge and demand for diverse local, nutritious, agroecological foods;
∎ Oversee project monitoring and reporting, including that attention is paid to gender and inclusion;
∎ Support to any other relevant activities in the role of project manager, including inputs to project communications, accompanying implementation research;
∎ Maintain effective liaison with partners and project team;
∎ Maintain project expenses and administrations at field;
∎ Participate in coordination meetings, prepare monthly/ad-hoc reports and meeting minutes;
∎ Any other specific tasks or responsibilities given by the SFSA Bangladesh management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Incumbent must have at least 03 years of relevant job experience with reputed INGO and donor funded agriculture, nutrition, food and market systems development project;
∎ Experienced and skilled in facilitating farmers' group, conduct need based assessment, climate change adaptation aspect;
∎ Experience of working in complex, multi stakeholder environments with understanding of the local, regional and national landscape and efforts to improve nutrition;
∎ Experience in managing complex multiple project activities effectively and efficiently to meet timelines and in achieving programme success;
∎ Proven skills in dealing with partners e.g. public/private/NGO sector for health, nutrition, agriculture and/or market systems development;
∎ Experience in collecting field data and prepare project progress reports;
∎ Have analytical skills and ability to relate programmatic performance and budgeting;
∎ Excellent command of English (oral and writing), and any local languages spoken in the cities
∎ Excellent report writing and communication skills;
∎ Good computer skills on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and emailing;
∎ Excellent Interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team; and maintain the targets and deadlines.
