∎ SFSA Bangladesh has been implementing a project called "Climate Resilient Agricultural Advancement in Barind (CRAAB)" with funding support from the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC). The project aims to optimize the usage of natural resources such as soil, water, and plants through increased adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices for production, adaptation, and mitigation in the Barind tract. By boosting irrigation efficiency, increasing farm productivity, and creating local agribusiness opportunities through a strong public-private stakeholder network, the project will improve the well-being of 25,000 farmers living in the Barind area.
∎ The specific objectives of this project are:
∎ Increase water use efficiency, farm productivity, and utilization of fallow land through climate-smart technologies.
∎ Empower women and youth in agriculture by creating job opportunities and agri-entrepreneurship programs.
∎ Develop partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders for innovation, value chain strengthening, and export promotion.
∎ Initially, the project will be implemented in three districts in Bangladesh: Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, and Naogaon. However, it can be extended to more locations based on requirements and donor preferences.
∎ SFSA Bangladesh is looking for a suitable candidate to fill up the position of `Project Manager`
∎ Type of Contract : Full time position of the project
∎ Plac of Posting : Rajshahi with regular travel to project locations.
∎ Job Summary: The Project Manager will be responsible for successfully implementing the "Climate Resilient Agricultural Advancement in Barind (CRAAB)" project in partnership with local partners, relevant stakeholders and farming communities. Her/his key roles include planning, execution, people and resource management, monitoring, communication, and reporting to the management and the donor. The Project Manager will work in close collaboration with other SFSA projects in that region under the guidance of Agriservices Program Lead of SFSA Bangladesh.
∎ Relationships: S/he will be reportable to the Agriservices Program Lead and work in close coordination with other Project Managers in the same areas, and SFSA Bangladesh office management.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop a comprehensive and actionable implementation plan and strategy for the project in close collaboration with the project management team. This includes identifying key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
∎ Ensure the smooth implementation of the project by conducting regular field visits and monitoring progress. This involves actively engaging with project stakeholders, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise, and making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
∎ Foster innovation in climate-smart technology adaptation by exploring and implementing new approaches and solutions. Provide technical support to the project team and leverage appropriate business models to effectively deliver on project objectives.
∎ Establish and maintain strong relationships with local partners, relevant government officials, private stakeholders, and donors. This entails proactive communication, collaboration, and coordination to ensure alignment and mutual support toward project goals.
∎ Facilitate market linkages and foster private sector engagement in line with the project requirements. Identify opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and resource mobilization to enhance project outcomes.
∎ Meet the requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by donors, providing accurate and timely reporting to both the SFSA management and the donor. This includes monitoring project progress, documenting achievements, and addressing any concerns or deviations from the project plan.
∎ Effectively manage people and resources to ensure satisfactory progress and successful project outcomes. This involves overseeing team performance, providing guidance and support, and optimizing resource allocation to maximize project efficiency.
∎ Remain flexible and adaptable to assume any other specific areas of responsibility assigned by management from time to time. Embrace new challenges and opportunities that arise, actively contributing to the overall success of the project and organization.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of experience in agriculture and market development projects/programs (preferably as a Project Manager in INGOs or donor-funded projects).
∎ Ability to independently manage both technical and market-linked interventions of the project and build linkages with private sector.
∎ Strong experience collaborating with private and public sector organizations and stakeholders.
∎ In-depth knowledge of paddy and mango cultivation, production, marketing, business planning, and private-sector engagement in agriculture.
∎ Excellent communication and negotiation skills with private sectors, government representatives, associations, NGOs, etc.
∎ Proficient in developing logical frameworks, writing reports, and presenting to donors and communities.
∎ Strong computer skills (MS Office, internet applications, email correspondence).
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Possession of a valid driving license and willingness to operate a motorcycle.
∎ Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team while meeting targets and deadlines.
