Experience:
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Agriculture where Diploma in Agriculture will be given priority
The incumbent will be from anywhere in Bangladesh but priority will be given to the inhabitants of Cox’s Bazar district and conversant with local language. Each FA have to manage 20-25 Groups (farmers’ group and Rohingya Refuzee Groups). However, the person should have the following qualifications but not limited to - Market literacy/leadership, agricultural production/results oriented.
At least 2 years working experiences with agricultural projects, livelihood projects and markets. Experiences will be flexible who have diploma in Agriculture.
Basic knowledge in operation of digital devices.
Effective communication and relationship building with farmers groups, buyer, seller and DAE
Problem solving and decision making for the farmers’ group
Use of digital devices
Digital data collection
Time flexibility
Basic computer literacy on MS word and MS Excel
Respect on gender, PSEA, Safeguarding, code of conduct and cultural diversity
Committed on response in any humanitarian emergency if necessary
Able to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc.
Shushilan, a national reputed NGO has been implementing a project entitled “Strengthening the agro-food system through practicing climate adaptive technologies and market access in Cox’s Bazar” with technical and financial support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). FAO, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), supports strengthening skills and entrepreneurship in the agro-food sector, promoting farm production, climate adaptive technologies, and market access for the host communities and the Rohingya people. The project is implementing in collaboration with Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) and local administration to support the marginal and smallholder farmers and youth to adopt climate adaptive technologies to increase their household income and strengthening farmers’ and youth organizations for better market access for host communities and Rohingya Refugee. Shushilan is inviting application from the qualified and interested candidates for above position.
Provide assistance to Local Service Providers (LSPs) within his/her assigned Aggregation Centers/ Camps.
Take part in formation of Farmers groups and Rohingya Refuzee Groups under the guidance of the Project Officer/Market Development Officers of Shushilan
Assist/conduct participatory Market Chain Analysis (PMCA), Sub sector analysis in collaboration with farmers’ group, to develop a business plan for each group
Take part in conduct training need assessment of Rohingya Refuzees
Facilitate training sessions with Farmers groups and Rohingya Refuzee Groups especially on homestead vegetable gardening, agro-food processing and firm machineries repair
Assist farmers group in increasing crop intensity and innovation in the following subsector
Documentation, monitoring and reporting and develop monthly report in prescribed format
Update farmers profile, production prediction, economic return of production and initiative by FFS/farmers’ group
To promote farm mechanization & diversification, judicious use of water resources for irrigation, post-production activities, and Good Agronomic Practices (GAP)
Promote financial inclusion for farmers’ group by promoting access to agricultural credit, savings and its reinvestment in profitable activities
Support Aggregation centers to strengthen the capacity of the aggregation Center Management Committee
