Job Context:
∎ Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children, youth and women, promoting climate justice. The organization is going to implement a research focused pilot project named `Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice with the support of `OXFAM in Bangladesh`. The relevant study and activities will be implemented in Dhaka, Satkhira, Khulna and Cox`s Bazar District. BTS is going to recruit the `Feminist Climate Justice Officer` for the mentioned project.
∎ Project Name : Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice.
∎ Tenure of Services Contract: 3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project`s lifetime.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Uphold feminist principle in climate movement building to ensure environmental justice.
∎ Develop feminist climate movement models to ensure communities rights and climate justice.
∎ Engage coastal communities (especially women) and other climate vulnerable/nature dependent communities in climate movement to ensure natural resource rights.
∎ Influence government, private sector and local communities in climate movement building.
∎ Conduct and facilitate training on feminist climate movement initiative.
∎ Assist project manager in the management of overall activities of "Blue Economy and Inclusiveness Development for Climate Justice (BID4CJ)" project.
∎ Assist in preparing progress reporting for projects using information from various sources.
∎ Keeping project manager informed and update relevant staffs and donor (Oxfam).
∎ Assist in financial and compliance management of the project.
∎ Assist in Preparing periodic, annual and other relevant reports.
∎ Promoting women and youth leadership for climate justice and natural resource rights.
∎ Ensuring safe and inclusive project management.
∎ Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience gender rights/ justice related projects. Having experience in climate justice and blue economy related activities will be an added advantage.
∎ Relevant experience of 5 years out of which at least 2 years should be in feminist movement building areas.
∎ Knowledge of gender, Feminist principle, Ecosystem and the livelihoods approaches.
∎ Able to work under pressure and willing to frequent travel to Field area in the Project Area.
∎ Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.
∎ Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Salary:
∎ Gross: Taka 68,250/= (Sixty Eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays
∎ Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per 'Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy' of Breaking the Silence and the facilities will be applicable also based on available resources in the project budget.
