Must have good knowledge on woven & Knit fabric.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Evaluate fabric performance, appearance, and quality against buyer/brand specifications. Collaborate with fabric suppliers, mills, and internal teams for sourcing and development.

  • Provide technical support in fabric selection, testing, finishing, and approval processes.

  • Monitor lab dips, hand feel, shrinkage, GSM, color fastness, and other fabric parameters.

  • Conduct risk analysis on fabric types before bulk production to avoid potential quality issues.

  • Coordinate with QA and Production teams to resolve any fabric-related issue.

  • Stay updated on fabric trends, innovations, and new technologies in the textile industry.

  • Conduct physical and chemical tests on fabrics (e.g., shrinkage, colorfastness, tensile strength, pilling, flammability).

  • Ensure all testing complies with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, AATCC, or buyer-specific).

  • Record, analyze, and interpret test results with accuracy and detail.

  • Identify quality issues, defects, and inconsistencies in fabric batches.

  • Recommend improvements to enhance fabric performance and durability.

  • Inspect fabric samples for color accuracy, hand feel, GSM, weave/knit pattern, stretch, and finish.

  • Approve or reject samples based on technical specifications and buyer requirements.

  • Work with merchandisers and designers to evaluate fabric suitability for new styles.

  • Communicate technical issues to suppliers, mills, and internal departments.

  • Work with production teams to troubleshoot fabric-related problems during manufacturing.

  • Participate in pre-production meetings to ensure fabric standards are clearly understood.

  • Maintain detailed test reports, fabric specifications, and quality records.

  • Prepare quality summary sheets and provide feedback to management.
