Experience:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Leather / Footwear Engineering or Equivalent from a Public Private or Oversees University.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a footwear manufacturing environment, with a strong background in leather sourcing or tannery operations. Candidates with combined experience in both footwear factories and tanneries will be given preference.
Excellent understanding of the footwear manufacturing process, materials,and technologies.
Understanding of the manufacturing processes of leather, its tanningprocess, difficulties & error finding leather in sample/production of footwear.
Sound understanding of leather- Selection, Grading & Tanning process.

Source and develop suitable leather and other materials for footwear/SLG sampling and production.
Ensure material selection aligns with design requirements, cost targets, and production feasibility.
Collaborate closely with Designer, Product Management, Costing, QA,suppliers, and Production teams to ensure material consistency from development to bulk manufacturing.
Recommend appropriate leather articles and grades based on product categories (e.g., sneakers, boots, sandals, dress shoes, etc.).
Understand leather tanning processes to identify potential challenges in sample and bulk footwear production.
Conduct leather grading and quality assessments and negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing and quality.
Manage material development processes, including swatch development \and distribution to stakeholders.
Ensure bulk production materials match approved samples in quality and specifications through effective communication with suppliers.
Ensure all sourced materials meet lab testing requirements and take necessary actions to maintain Apex quality standards.
