• Strong knowledge of knitting machines and fabric construction.

• Understanding of yarn types, GSM, stitch length, and fabric technical specs.

• Leadership and team supervision skills.

• Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems).

• Problem-solving and analytical thinking.

• Hands-on experience in a knitted fabric production unit

To manage and supervise the day-to-day knitting production tasks, ensuring that the machines operate efficiently, following the production schedule, maintaining quality standards, and working closely with the maintenance and planning teams to meet delivery deadlines.

• Monitor day-to-day knitting operations to ensure target output and efficiency.

• Ensure proper allocation of machines, manpower, and materials to meet production schedules.

• Coordinate with planning and merchandising teams for order execution and delivery timelines.

• Inspect fabric output for quality defects (e.g., drop stitches, holes, GSM variations, stripes, etc.).

• Ensure adherence to quality standards for different fabric types (cotton, polyester, blends, etc.).

• Coordinate with quality control and lab teams for test runs and sample approvals.

• Ensure proper setting and programming of knitting machines (circular, flat, etc.).

• Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and servicing.

• Optimize machine utilization and minimize idle time or machine downtime.

• Check yarn quality and quantity before loading to machines.

• Ensure minimal wastage and accurate yarn consumption records.

• Maintain proper documentation of raw material usage and daily production logs.

• Supervise a team of machine operators, helpers.

• Train operators on machine handling, SOPs, and safety protocols.

• Motivate the team to maintain high productivity and discipline.

• Maintain shift-wise and daily production reports.

• Monitor KPIs like machine efficiency, wastage %, downtime %, and rejection rates.

• Report production deviations and propose corrective actions to the manager.
