∎ 5 years in a similar position in a project or a structure in the field of climate change mitigation, or energy efficiency, or the RAC sector, or environmental policy, or development.
∎ Excellent knowledge of climate change and ozone protection and in the field of energy efficiency and the RAC sector.
∎ Knowledge of the structure of development strategies in Bangladesh on a national and sectorial level, the integration of climate change mitigation in other domains and the monitoring and evaluation of climate change mitigation.
∎ Knowledge on training institutions and preferable knowledge of development of technical curricula.
∎ Experience in building and maintaining professional relationship with stakeholders, particularly the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) agencies as well as other development partners, including knowledge on various government protocols is an asset.
∎ Ability to work well under pressure and must be a strong team player.
∎ Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla is essential.
∎ Excellent network within public and private sector organisations in energy and RAC sectors.
∎ Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in a multi-cultural environment.
∎ Strong coordination experience with multiple partner organisations, specifically in public sector.
∎ Academic qualifications

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. GIZ supports the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, private sector development and technical education, biodiversity, as well as good governance and displacement.
∎ GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Energy Advisor” from candidates under "Green Room Air-Conditioning (GRACE) project. Green Room Air-Conditioning (GRACE) is a global project that has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), under its International Climate Initiative (IKI), and is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The Partner Ministry in Bangladesh is the National Ozone Unit under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The project strengthens existing transformation approaches in the country and enables the indispensable regional and international exchange between private and public decision-making and key actors. The project is complementary to other GIZ Proklima projects and other initiatives as well as to bilateral projects, especially in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and skills development.
∎ Possible Contract duration: Initially for one year with possibility of extension until 30.04.2028
