Job Responsibilities:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: In this light, the Cox's Bazar EPR unit was created in 2019 to have a more integrated approach to preparedness and readiness work across the office. Building on the successes and past initiatives, the office is looking at expanding the scope of EPR work and to institutionalise it across five core areas, as well as establishing a clear linkage with the Country Office (CO) Plan and projects.

∎ Business Continuity Planning and Emergency Preparedness and Response Package (EPRP).
∎ Contingency planning for WFP operation and government preparedness exercises at the subnational levels, in collaboration with the DRR team.
∎ Holistic EPR approach across Programme, Supply Chain, support functions (Admin, Finance, HR, IT), Sectors, and soft preparedness (data infrastructure, assessment ready).
∎ Capacity strengthening of WFP Cooperating Partners, Retailers in relation to emergency preparedness.
∎ Potential rolling out of Forecast Based Financing, linking meteorological early warning to impact forecast.

Additional Requirements:
∎ EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of work experience in UN organizations, international and/or national non-governmental organizations, with a focus on humanitarian policy, emergency preparedness and response, human rights, protection, international law, or any other humanitarian-related field, are required.
∎ LANGUAGE: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and working knowledge of Bangla. Any other WFP language is an asset but not required
