At least 10 years’ experience, preferably prior experience of working within cluster/sector coordination
Previous first phase emergency response experience is essential
Experience of high-level co-ordination and chairing of meetings.
Experience of applying INEE Minimum Standards and other relevant frameworks and standards in education in emergencies)
Experience in assessing Education Sector partners’ capacities to inform the development and roll out of capacity building plan to improve quality

The Opportunity
Save the Children and UNICEF jointly lead the Education Sector in Cox’s Bazar as part of the Rohingya Coordination Platform (RCP) under the Rohingya humanitarian response. The Education Sector supports the coordination of timely, coherent, and effective education preparedness and response by mobilizing and coordinating humanitarian stakeholders to address the education needs of Rohingya refugees and host community children.
The Education Sector Co-Lead (Coordinator) will provide strategic leadership and coordination support to ensure an effective multi-agency response aligned with humanitarian coordination mechanisms and global Education in Emergencies (EiE) standards. The role will work closely with UNICEF as the Sector Co-Lead, RCP, government authorities including RRRC and education authorities, UN agencies, international and national NGOs, donors, and community stakeholders.
The position will support sector partners in needs assessment, strategic planning, information management, advocacy, and resource mobilization to ensure that education interventions are effectively coordinated, equitable, and aligned with sector priorities.
The coordinator will also ensure strong linkages between camp-level education activities and sector coordination structures, strengthen partner capacities, promote localization, and support evidence-based decision making across the sector.
