Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in clinical / counselling / general psychology from any reputed University
∎ At least 2-3 years' experience in clinic/hospital at psychotherapy unit. Priority will be given to those who have training and experience to work with NGOs in clinic/ hospital at psychotherapy unit.

Job Context:
∎ Reporting to the ECCD and MHPSS Supervisor, ECCD and MHPSS Counsellors will be responsible for the implementation of ECCD and MHPSS activities of INI program in Cox`s Bazar Refugee camps. She will implement ECCD and MHPSS activities and ensure smooth integration into CMAM / CMAMI / OTP / TSFP / BSFP / IYCF-E and outreach components of the program as well as ensuring a strict adherence to donor compliances and standard protocol. The ECCD and MHPSS Counsellors will work directly with the beneficiaries to provide ECCD and MHPSS services as well as work closely with the Nutrition Site Supervisors and other staff and volunteers at camp level to ensure smooth collaboration and coordination.
∎ Report to: ECCD and MHPSS Supervisor
∎ Supervise to: Volunteer who will be assigned by your site.
∎ Liaises with: ECCD and MHPSS Counsellors will work closely with the Nutrition Site Supervisor and broader nutrition team at field level. S/He will liaise with all the site-based nutrition staff including the Register, IYCF Counsellor, CD Promoter, Storekeeper, Nurse as well as Community Nutrition Supervisor and Nutrition Supervisor.
∎ Job Location: At anywhere in Ukhiya (Camp area)
∎ Job: Duration: Till 31st December-2024 with a high possibility of extension.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of ECCD and MHPSS supervisor this position will undertake the following tasks
∎ ECCD and MHPSS activities Implementation:
∎ ECCD:
∎ The ECCD Promoter will be responsible for overseeing the ECCD activities based in the assigned camp.
∎ Focus on child friendly and age appropriate ECCD (play that develop their physics, their minds, and their creativity).
∎ Support timely, quality & consolidated ECCD programme development and planning.
∎ Ensure that all material is counted for, in good condition and stored tidy and securely. An inventory list must be made monthly by using register book.
∎ Create and maintain a supportive and caring environment for children.
∎ Support and guide to children to use and explore during learning and play activities in ECCD zone with materials tools and resources.
∎ Sharing the importance of ECCD to mothers/caregivers.
∎ Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
∎ Follow and ensure the safety of the ECCD zone and ECCD kit.
∎ Ensure that all children who arrive are properly registered and have safe care if they stay there.
∎ Follow up on children's absence.
∎ Ensure that health, nutrition, and hygiene are promoted in the sites.
∎ Builds and maintains effective relationships with nutrition team, colleagues, members.
∎ MHPSS:
∎ Identify Psychological, emotional, and behavioral difficulties; diagnose; develop action plan and provide psychological and psychosocial support at individual, group, and family level.
∎ Refer beneficiaries with specific needs of specialized psychological support to external services and follow-up on all referrals.
∎ Organize and implement more specific psychosocial support activities through different methods including mediation activities, creative or recreational activities, group discussions, group daily activities, etc.
∎ Observe and intervene to understand the part Care practices plays in the causes of malnutrition and the barriers to a good acceptance of the treatment.
∎ Organize and animate sessions for mother - child dyads in difficulty (e.g., psychosocial stimulation through play, massage, etc)
∎ Produce educational and alertness support media for children (individual or collective inside and outdoor games, drawings, songs, dances, plays, toy making, etc.).
∎ Make sure no child is left alone, regardless of her/his status (unaccompanied, accompanying person, beneficiary)
∎ Make toys and games available that are clean and in good condition.
∎ Favor the child' psychomotor growth.
∎ Contribute to the mapping of relevant actors (referral network) and set up of referral systems to other services available.
∎ Write specific reports for critical cases.
∎ Reporting Learning and strengthen capacity and cross cutting:
∎ Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports as requested and timely submit to ECCD and MHPSS Supervisor
∎ Participate in training as requested.
∎ Other assigned task/s report by supervisor
∎ Ensure organizational policies and donor compliances are in place.
∎ Be aware of, understand and comply with all of SHED's policies and procedures (Child Protection, fraud, code of conduct, PSEA etc.).
∎ Orient staff and volunteers on SHED's policies and procedures (Child Protection, fraud, code of conduct, PSEA etc.).
∎ Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the Complaints, Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) is functional and accessible, that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed.
∎ Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CFRM, safeguarding and expected staff behavior is disseminated among programme participants and communities.
∎ Work in a manner that always protects confidentiality.
∎ Note: Besides the above-mentioned job activities, you must do any other job assign by your supervisor & the organization as and when required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 2 to 3 years' experience in the community nutrition program (camp experience prefers)
∎ Maximum 35 Years (on 03/01/2024), but for highly potential candidate (s) age can be flexible
∎ Required Competencies & Skills:
∎ Strong interest in working with nutrition, women and childcare, psychological and psychosocial support and communities is required.
∎ Motivation to work in the humanitarian field and sharing of EMERGENCY's values and mission.
∎ Good knowledge of child and/or adult development
∎ Knowledge and experience of early childhood care and development (ECCD) programs and techniques, theory, and practice
∎ Good command of at least one psychotherapeutic approach - Training and case management aptitudes
∎ Knowledge of humanitarian MHPSS
∎ Capacity to evaluate the quality of the work of the ECCD and MHPSS Counsellors.
∎ Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their cares.
∎ Sense of confidentiality
∎ Having flexibility, Perseverance, Patient & Dutiful
∎ Making any report in timely (Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Half Yearly & Yearly) which is applicable.
∎ Giving different support to respected supervisor, subordinate staff & colleagues.
∎ PREFERRED:
∎ Ability to cope with emotionally demanding situations.
∎ Ability to work independently, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems.
∎ Position holders must be willing to travel to other locations to conduct activities.
∎ A good understanding of health, hygiene, and nutrition issues within the target community.
∎ Willing to work any location under SHED listed camp area of Ukhiya & Teknaf Upazila
∎ Capacity to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
∎ To protect children in connection and Non-discriminatory and gender sensitive.
∎ Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to sites.
∎ For extra ordinary/promising candidates, experience can be flexible.
