Responsibilities & Context:
The Person is responsible for overall planning, design review, execution, and management of all electro-mechanical (MEP) systems across projects.
This includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lifts, and utility systems, ensuring compliance with standards, efficiency, safety, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Management
Lead and manage MEP engineering teams across multiple projects
Provide technical guidance and strategic direction
Review team performance and ensure skill development
2. Design Review & Engineering
Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, and specifications
Ensure integration of mechanical and electrical systems with civil/architectural design
Validate load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection
3. Project Planning & Execution
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems
Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings and standards
Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Establish QA/QC procedures for MEP works
Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
Ensure adherence to local regulatory authority requirements
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
Review MEP BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documents
Monitor project costs and recommend value engineering solutions
Approve procurement of MEP materials and equipment
6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, consultants, and contractors
Liaise with utility providers (power, gas, water, telecom)
Lead coordination meetings and resolve technical conflicts
7. Testing & Commissioning
Oversee testing, balancing, and commissioning of systems (HVAC, electrical, fire safety, etc.)
Ensure systems meet performance and safety standards before handover
8. Operations & Maintenance (Optional Role Scope)
Develop O&M manuals and preventive maintenance plans
Support facility management teams post-hand
