Job Purposes:

The District Coordinator will ensure quality implementation of One-Stop Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Service Centres (OSSCs) under the WASH Programme by providing operational and technical support to partner organizations. The role will coordinate field-level activities, procurement and installation processes, and community engagement to ensure timely and effective service delivery. It will also contribute to capacity building, documentation, and reporting, ensuring that OSSC interventions promote sustainable access to safe drinking water in coastal areas through effective partnership and compliance with programme standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a details activity plan (annual/quarterly/monthly) of the partnership with budget allocation in consultation with project focal and other concerned staff of BRAC and Partner for One-Stop Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Service Centres (OSSCs) to ensure safe drinking water in the coastal region. 

  • Coordinate survey design, enumerator recruitment, and orientation processes, assist in the development of questionnaires, IEC, and BCC materials and ensure outreach campaigns as well as conduct follow up and monitor the regular activities of partner’s staff and give them direction to achieve the target with good quality.

  • Participate and support the project partner on the establishment of OSSC Service Hubs with water testing and equipment storage facilities to conduct water testing activities and one stop service for ensuring safe drinking water in the coastal region.

  • Ensure the participation of the local water user/supplier groups by working directly with communities, particularly women, engaging volunteers, implementing smaller – scale projects and/or addressing specific water – related challenges.

  • Extend supportive supervision to the partner in preparing the plan; regularly follow up and monitor their performance, therefore the One-Stop Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Service Centres (OSSCs) run with expected achievement over time.

  • Coordinate survey design, enumerator recruitment, staff deployment, time sheet and HR management and orientation processes, assist in the development of questionnaires, IEC, and BCC materials.

  • Provide extensive support to the partner to foster the participatory community capacity-building and awareness-raising activities on safe drinking in the outreach campaigns as well as conduct follow up and monitor the regular activities of respective project staff and give them direction to achieve the target with good quality.

  • Capturing lessons learning of the project from the field; support in arranging knowledge dissemination workshops and advocacy to amplify the impact of the project both within BRAC’s clusters as well as beyond across the Coastal Region.

  • Facilitate timely data collection, documentation, and reporting to the programme manager by ensuring to maintain proper records of all related data/information of activities. Ensure close coordination among project partners, GO, NGO and other WASH stakeholders in the coastal district.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
