To strengthen and expand its Microfinance Program, the organization is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional for the position of Director – Microfinance Program. The Director will provide strategic leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain portfolio quality, drive financial sustainability, and lead nationwide microfinance operations aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
This is a senior leadership position requiring strong operational expertise in microfinance, risk management, financial oversight, and team leadership across multi-branch operations.
Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainable growth of the Microfinance Program.
Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and target setting in alignment with organizational goals.
Identify opportunities for product diversification and digital financial services.
Oversee nationwide microfinance operations including branch expansion, portfolio management, and service delivery.
Ensure achievement of disbursement, recovery, PAR (Portfolio at Risk), and operational efficiency targets.
Supervise regional and area managers to ensure effective field-level implementation.
Ensure portfolio quality and financial sustainability of the program.
Monitor delinquency trends and implement corrective measures.
Strengthen internal controls, audit systems, and risk mitigation frameworks.
Ensure compliance with Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) guidelines and other relevant policies in Bangladesh.
Maintain strong liaison with regulatory authorities, donors, auditors, and stakeholders.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and governance standards.
Prepare periodic operational and financial reports for senior management and the Board.
Lead, mentor, and develop a large multi-tier team across regions.
Establish performance management systems and KPIs.
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical practice.
Build and maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, development partners, and donors.
Represent the organization in external forums, meetings, and sector platforms.
Introduce technology-driven solutions for operational efficiency.
Develop client-centric financial products tailored to rural and semi-urban communities.
Ensure social performance management standards are upheld.
