Educational Requirements:
∎ At least an MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field, with a PhD preferred
∎ Coursework or equivalent training in AI/ML, advanced statistics, and data science related areas.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The DS lead needs the following: Working knowledge of AI, machine learning, and core data science, including but not limited to various types of ANNs and when to use them, techniques for feature extraction, clustering, optimization, regression methods, and general statistics.
∎ Working understanding and demonstrable skills using a variety of machine learning and statistical techniques to process and forecast time series data, including but not limited to CNN, RNN, LSTM, MLP, SVR, SVM, ARIMA, various transformer techniques, appropriate use of filters, etc.
∎ Strong model development, validation, and deployment skills.
∎ At least three years of hands-on experience in Python or related languages used in machine learning and data science
∎ Constant curiosity about new and upcoming improvements around AI/ML and data science in general, including demonstrable awareness of current research and emerging trends.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience with databases, including SQL.
∎ Team leadership experiencing, including leading more junior resources.
∎ Experience deploying models in cloud-based services at scale.
∎ Experience working with power and power transmission in the utility industry.
