Experience:

• At least 10 years

MBA/Master’s Degree, preferably in Management/Social Sciences or relevant discipline

• At least 10 years

• At least 10 years’ experience, preferably in development and emergency response, including 5 years in management and/or supervisory role.

• Experience in providing support (logistical, operational, safety and security, administrative, finance etc.) and monitoring large-scale field operations is important.

• Advanced knowledge on financial, administrative and human resources management, excellent knowledge on program complexities and perspective.

• Proven strategic planner and team leader with sound technical knowledge of support systems

• Proven ability to develop and lead a high performing team.

• Excellent people manager, mentor and coach

• Strong problem solving and organisational skills in day to day and crisis situations

• Experience of a flexible approach for managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

• Experience of working collaboratively with local and national government, with NGO partners and a commitment to working through systems of children/community participation.

The Opportunity

As an SMT Member and Head of the Area Office, Director-CxB Area Office shares responsibility for high-quality delivery and oversight of Save the Children’s programme implementation across CXB Area Office. This includes supporting all thematic budget holders, cross-thematic and non-thematic functions, as well the direction, support, and evaluation of team leads in collaboration with Sector/Functional Directors, Deputy Country Director and Country Director. The Director will ensure that all projects adequately incorporate humanitarian preparedness and resilience. S/he is expected to lead all interventions of Save the Children strategically and operationally including Rohingya Refugee Response and Development Projects in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban Districts. S/he will ensure timely and effective programmatic delivery maintaining quality, responsiveness and humanitarian principles & standard to children and their families and to other targeted beneficiaries. The Incumbent is also responsible to ensure safety and security measures are in place and SCI operates in a safe, cohesive and responsive way in coordination with Humanitarian Coordination System, GoB, LEA and with Donors and Partners. S/he is also responsible to represent the Organization in UN, Donor, ISCG and at Govt. level to ensure best interest of children and to be the voice of them.

The Director is responsible for establishing and leading an effective operational and functional platform (including but not limited to, administrative, awards management, financial, logistics, HR and IT related services) for effective delivery of all programs. S/he will be the lead facilitator to ensure effective coordination and flow of inputs between Country Office focal points and Cox’s Bazar based counterparts of programs and support functions.
