Job Context:
∎ The Bangladesh Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Foundation (OHSE) is looking for a Digital Communications and Advocacy Officer with strong records in campaigns, journalism, media, communications and advocacy on labour rights issues at national level.
∎ Work Location: OSHE Head Office, Dhaka
∎ Start date: First quarter of 2021

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Digital Communications and Advocacy Officer will develop, organise and execute a wide range of activities to influence policy according to the scope of the OHSE. The Digital Communication and Advocacy Officer will build policy capacity of the OHSE, advice on project implementation, carry out policy analysis, and the writing of position papers of the OHSE. Together with Project Officers in the various areas at OSHE. The Digital Communications and Advocacy Officer will play an active role in networking, lobbying and representing the OHSE in a wide range of policy issues, conventions and media opportunities.
∎ Create, develop, write, edit and upload communication and advocacy materials, including press releases, newsletters, monitoring labour rights issues as priority for OHSE at print and electronic Medias, print and video contents, homepage posts and social media contents on real time basis.
∎ Promote the organization and its activities at with local print and electronic medias on regular basis; liaise and build relations partner organsiation of OHSE and work with them to develop and support their various campaign activities relevant to the OHSE priorities.
∎ Conceptualize and implement overall communication and advocacy strategies.
∎ Maintenance of different campaign and advocacy platform and network as currently facilitating by OSHE.
∎ Develop communication advocacy strategies in various areas of policy, including workers' rights, economic and social policy, equality, development, climate change, etc., in cooperation with other programme officers responsible for specific areas of policy.
∎ Organsie the press and commendation related events and represent the OHSE in dufferent meetings and events etc.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Hard working University graduate on mass media and Journalism / digital communication with positive attitude and ability to carry-out the assigned task onetime.
∎ Minimum 2 years job experience in media, journalism, advocacy, campaigns or communications.
∎ Familiar on web-editing, social media, newsletter/emailing and on-line communication tools. Knowledge of graphic design, layout and publishing skills.
∎ Sound interpersonal abilities and communication skills, including social media and multimedia skills
∎ Understanding of political, economic and social issues relevant to workers and workers support organizations.
∎ Strong commitment to the aims and values of the trade union movement
∎ Excellent command of English (written, oral, comprehension), including highly developed drafting skills
∎ Proven capacity in self-organising, planning and reporting Job offer:

Salary: Tk. 25000 - 30000 (Monthly)
