  • Have knowledge or willingness to learn and challenge oneself and others regarding gender roles, power relationships and gender-based violence

  • Needs experience and skills in working with community people and influencers in the community

  • Patient, persuasive and have the confidence and experience needed to be taken seriously by leaders

  • Deep knowledge on Gender, Violence against women (VAW), PSEA & Safeguarding

Skills:

  • Leadership skills and supervisory experience, including the ability to develop team performance

Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of DFAT projects, providing technical support and guidance to BRAC_GBV response and prevention services, including the management of staff and partners. This will provide supervision to GBV response and prevention staff and promote coordination among local stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with Project manager to oversee to GBV DFAT project to ensure a high standard of implementation of strategy and activities

  • Assist Protection Lead in proposal development and quality reporting as per the report agreements

  • Ensure GBV SOP/Guidelines being followed in the field

  • Monitor quality of field performance on a regular basis

  • Support in developing curricula and materials related to GBV programming

  • Collaborate with the project managers to ensure the quality of quarterly reports and other documentation of GBV interventions, are written in a timely manner

  • Ensure ethical and sound data collection and information management systems are in workplace

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
