Job Context:

∎ POSITION SUMMARY:
∎ The Deputy Manager - Protection will work with closely with the Program Director to implement the BC/TIP protection related objectives and targets. S/he will also ensure that all program activities are survivor-centered and result in the protection of rights of the vulnerable.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead all activities under Intermediate Result (IR) 2: Improved access of trafficking victims to assistance
∎ Oversee survivor service providers and provide technical assistance to implement standards of care, reach wider audiences and expand collaboration between service providers
∎ Monitor case management and the quality of providers' services, including shelter, food, legal aid, psychosocial counseling, medical care, livelihoods assistance, and business start-up support
∎ Play a lead role in organizing training programs on topics such as basic counseling, comprehensive survivors' service, trauma-counseling, etc.
∎ Establish and maintain relationships with relevant local organizations, Government of Bangladesh (GOB) agencies as well as private sector partners to improve referral mechanism and services
∎ Collaborate in activation of counter-trafficking committees (CTC), liaise with police and district governments, and other organizations to improve protection of survivors
∎ Ensure that BC/TIP strategies are in-line with best practices and deploy innovative solutions to survivor assistance; develop tools for staff and partners
∎ Collaborate with BC/TIP Prevention Manager and Prosecution Manager to ensure cohesive approach to addressing all "P's" of counter-trafficking: Prevention, Protection, Prosecution and Partnerships
∎ Contribute to BC/TIP quarterly, annual and other reports
∎ Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum five years of professional experience in implementing anti-trafficking initiatives with a focus on victim protection
∎ Knowledge of the social, psychological, medical, and economic aspects of trafficking-in-persons and current survivor service providers in Bangladesh
∎ Extensive experience working with relevant GOB agencies, especially, Department of Social Services as well as local and international NGOs addressing the issues of human trafficking and labor migration in Bangladesh and South Asia
∎ USAID grantee experience will be an asset
∎ Master's degree in social work, psychology, international development, human rights, or other social science from a reputed university
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla required
∎ Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Microsoft)
