Responsibilities & Context:

Security Operations & Leadership

  • Coordinate and oversee all security and safety activities across the university campus.

  • Supervise Security Supervisors, Security Officers, and Guards.

  • Ensure round-the-clock security coverage for academic buildings, hostels, residential areas, events, and critical facilities.

  • Schedule and manage security coverage for special programs, events, and emergency situations.

  • Monitor arming and disarming of alarm systems and oversee duty rosters, attendance, and discipline of security personnel.

  • Conduct employee evaluations and review job performance of security staff.

Incident Management & Reporting

  • Investigate, document, and report all security incidents, hazards, and accidents to university administration.

  • Maintain alarm logs, incident records, and daily shift reports.

  • Ensure timely escalation and reporting of critical safety and security matters.

Safety, Fire & Emergency Preparedness

  • Coordinate and supervise fire safety drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency response activities.

  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness and campus safety plans.

  • Lead security and safety awareness training for staff, students, and faculty.

  • Provide first-aid support when required (training will be provided by the university).

Surveillance & Security Systems

  • Monitor and ensure effective operation of CCTV cameras, access control systems, and other security equipment.

  • Review CCTV footage when necessary and ensure proper storage and confidentiality.

  • Prepare maintenance schedules for surveillance equipment and ensure timely repair and functionality.

  • Keep updated on modern security technologies and recommend improvements when required.

Policy, Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, implement, and regularly review security policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.

  • Identify potential security threats and implement preventive and corrective measures.

  • Plan for the continuous development of the security service, including recruitment, training, counseling, and discipline of staff.

  • Control and monitor security-related operational expenses in coordination with management.

Internal Coordination & Campus Support

  • Work closely with the Proctor’s Office to support student security and safety matters.

  • Assist senior management with security planning and risk-related decision-making.

  • Support campus operations such as site opening/closing, emergency response, and essential facilities coordination when required.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the university management from time to time.
