Responsibilities & Context: Position Overview:
World Concern Bangladesh seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) for the anticipated USAID Bangladesh-funded Communities for Gender Equality (CGE) Activity. The DCoP should provide technical support to partners, ensuring program quality, training, capacity building, ME&L, documentation and reporting. DCoP will lead the operational team in implementing an anticipated $16 M USAID-funded project to improve community advocacy against and prevention of violence for at-risk people and gender-based violence (GBV) survivors and increase the ability of public and private service institutions to protect and respond to GBV survivors as well as those most at-risk of GBV.
The DCoP should be responsible for providing technical support to partners, ensuring program quality, training and capacity building, ME&L, documentation, and reporting.
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) will provide strategic technical leadership to ensure a holistic technical approach to achieve the established goal and objectives of the project. The DCoP will also provide technical guidance to sub-partners and coordinate project activities to ensure project cohesive and consistency. S/he will play the leading role in DMEAL, documenting innovations and best practices, and sharing lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical oversight and support to program activities under the project’s key technical areas.
- Ensure that activity components are results-oriented, that deliverables are high quality, and that reporting is relevant and timely. The DCOP will focus on achieving results in all areas on schedule and ensuring synergies and cohesion between the various result areas.
- Assist sub-partner teams to develop and implement innovative approaches to all aspects of the project including community engagement and influencing government in policy development.
- Provide guidance and technical support to the project and the sub-partners on issues related to the technical areas/functions and to ensure that all activities are consistent with accepted best practices.
- Direct and lead collaboration with sub-partner technical leads to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across all project activities.
- Work with the CoP and the Grant Compliance Officer to ensure all activities are in compliance with USAID rules and regulations and activities meet program targets. Provide leadership in maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
- Ensuring activities follow global and national sector best practices, delivery norms, and standards
- Ensure the coherence and consistency of activities and timely intervene to solve problems
- Lead the preparation of reports and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the information provided, as well as ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ensure all other processes and functions inherent to their position or additional requirements are met.
