RAHMAN'S CHAMBERS Barristers & Advocates is currently inviting applications from high-calibre, senior legal professionals to join our team as the Department Head of the Investment (Land) Department. Operating out of our Headquarters, this pivotal leadership role requires a candidate with a robust academic background, decisive leadership qualities, and an extensive track record in dispute resolution.
Working Hours: Weekdays from 9:15 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturdays from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership: Supervise the overall operations and casework of the entire Investment (Land) Department.
Team & Client Management: Effectively lead, motivate, mentor, and manage a team of associates and paralegals, while acting as a trusted senior advisor directly to the firm's clients.
Expanded Land Advisory Duties: Execute complex, desk-based advisory and management duties. This involves conducting extensive legal due diligence, verifying titles, and navigating key administrative bodies. The candidate will regularly engage with the Sub-Registrar Office (for deed registrations and chain-of-ownership searches), the AC (Land) Office (for property mutation, namjari, and record corrections), and the DC (Deputy Commissioner) Office for broader revenue and land acquisition matters.
Expanded Court & Tribunal Expertise: Handle direct court appearances for land matters at both the DC and HC tribunals. This requires representing clients before the District Court (DC) for civil land disputes and the High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh for appellate and writ matters. Additionally, the role involves specialized advocacy before Land Tribunals, such as the Land Survey Tribunal and Land Survey Appellate Tribunal (to resolve record-of-rights/Khatian disputes), as well as the Land Appeal Board.
Remuneration: Salary shall be commensurate with the Chambers' policy covering different ranks and grades. Salary reviews are conducted every six months.
